Been to the ER twice

First er visit (3 days) i left after my vomiting subsided (still gone, phew) and a couple arguments ensued between the medical staff and myself.....the hospital did not discharge me and doc wanted me to stay...but i left for multiple big reasons...i still feel like a dumbass however

Three days pass after leaving er (so about 1.5 weeks now total sick) and i still have the most chronic diarrhea of my life. I’m living on the toilet, wearing diapers when i need to go out and I’ve probably crapped my pants 20 times since getting pancreatitis which i was diagnosed with for sur btw the first er visit. The pain without opiates or anything is awful i might add. All im using is bits of xanax and weed. I’m staying on that strict diet also for people with this condition. It would be very nice if i could find something else for pain because id love to take some ibuprofen even.....but too high risk imo

So i got scared cuz its not going away and go back to the ER, but there are different docs this time. They check blood, stool and urine and say im over the worst part now and it will pass soon. Well its been three more days (since 2nd er visit) totalling about two weeks and i still have awful abdominal pain with acute diarrhea. No more vomiting thankfully, but the pain is bad and the diarrhea is unreal ive never ever had it this bad and i have been very ill before. I suspect the second round of docs thought i was looking for a “fix” too since i have had no opiates i was borderline begging for them. Maybe they wrongly sent me home?

One of the few times in my life i feel like i might be dying. Ive lost about 20 pounds now...my abs are incredibly shredded at least haha....

For real though my fellow brothers....I’m scared....any advice is greatly appreciated i know this board is full of great knowledge. I have an apt to see diff doc in 2 days...might go back to the ER for more fluids because of the diarrhea dehydrating me....im withering away here guys...

- no alcohol
- no peds for a while
- no cigs

Nothing new added to my life besides a supplement i was taking so i stopped.

Thats the short story.....please stay healthy my friends....thx for reading

Lost a buddy of mine about a year ago to this. Waited and waited and by the time he got to the hospital it was too late. ORgans shutting down and life support to no avail. Get there and stay there!

Thanks for sharing your experience with us. I have never known anyone that had pancreatitis nor do I know anything at all about it. Do you know what caused yours? What in general causes this to develop? I think that would probably kill me fast, for real! With my heart condition.

Stuff moves so fast through you that it probably hardly gets absorbed? Dehydration is a serious danger. I wonder if the drugs I take for my heart would even be properly absorbed. Do you take any drugs for health problems? Sounds like you better go sooner than 2 days, and stay in the hospital if they want you to. Is the cost of medical care your main concern? If you don't have insurance I can see why you might not want to stay.

What I found:
https://www.webmd.com/digestive-disorders/digestive-diseases-pancreatitis#2

Were you ever a heavy alcohol drinker?

Sorry to hear what you're going through.

I would honestly say: Listen to the advice of the doctors who are taking care of you. I'm not saying doctors are perfect or don't make mistakes; but being a knucklehead is far worse in cases like these.

Get better and healthy, the muscle comes back in no time.

Have they done any biopsies or scans?

I'm sorry to hear this, eat only fruit and juice. Avoid anti-inflammatories, they act on the pancreas, inflating it more, until it is good. Even one day fasting a week helps a lot. Going to a hygienist, they can heal from all diseases

i had pancreatitis about 20 years ago...

treatment was....

no food.
no water.
lots of morphine...:)

you should be in the hospital...being fed and hydrated intravenously.

My cousin has been diagnosed with pancreatis. My first thought was take insulin to take stress off the pancreas. But after reading what pancreatis actually is im not sure that would be of any help.

I know that diet can control alot of your side effects. Other than that what have your doctors told you. I feel really bad for my cousin cause hes in alot of pain.

Hi triglycerides which is caused by AAS and possibly Tamoxifen will lead to pancreatitis. I know someone who spend 3 weeks in the hospital but recovered.

Another great piece of knowledge. I didn't know that. We have a wealth of experience and knowledge on our board here. I was just on another thread and sleep apnea and learned that you can have very severe sleep apnea and still wake up in the morning feeling well rested.

Are you taking any AAS or were you prior to the attack? If you do a quick google there are reports of people suffering pancreatitis from gear.

I had the same thing a number of weeks ago and the only thing I could put it down to was the use of gear.. particularily Tren. I've now cut this out and am cruising on Test. Some slight improvements but need to give it more time to definitely say it was Tren.

Yeah deff was 20 years ago. Now you'll get Dilaudid.

I've never had pancreatitis fortunately but from what I've read it's one of the most painful medical phenomenons imaginable. The only people I have known to get this are heavy heavy boozebags. Like, fifth of hard liqour throughout the day and then another one at night type boozebags.

Thank you for all the help and info once again my friends its all very much appreciated.

Like I said, no gear usage, no alcohol usage. Its from one of two supplements I'm certain because my girl got it too unfortunately and its really the only new variable in our lives recently so its one of two things we think.

I'm still going through it I got released from Stanford and referred to a GI specialist because they think what happened whatever it was, possibly virus or bacterial infection has gone from Pancreas to GI tract. Now I have a GI infection.

I honestly don't know what's exactly wrong with me. I personally feel like im still recovering from pancreatitis and its going to be a while. I've had to go pretty much vegan the past few days and things seem to be working but I still have the usual diarrhea + stomach pain.

There's been so much conflicting medical info I've gotten. Most docs said it was okay to take Ibuprofen or Tylenol or Aleve but there is just no way imo that can be good for things.

Like that one guy said at first you can't even drink water and that's pretty much true. You need to be fed water/nutrients thru IV and given dilauded with no eating.

Like the other guy said on here its one of the most painful medical phenomena SO if its not from alcohol or diabetes then usually you won't figure out exactly why it happened. Even the docs at Stanford don't know exactly what's wrong with me and 10/10 pain flair ups are happening to me with no opiates if all of you can believe this....With the pain I have its starting to make me angry.

I cannot find a GI doc that has an open apt till 1 month away. So I will keep looking for more. Not in Costa Rica anymore because I'd rather make sure I live and get the best treatment I can get in Cali.

Thanks again for reading and I cannot stress enough we all need to be thinking about our health and how truly important it is when some of us don't really recognize it like myself until we think its too late. I've gone from 215 to 187 pounds, but I don't care about gains anymore, I care about my heart having to not stress as much giving my body and brain oxygen to properly function and be my healthy self. I don't feel good beefed up allot anyways. Like my cousin said I went from a hummer, to a ferrari, and now I'm a smart car. I'll eventually get back to the gym and be a ferrari again, but no hummer this time.

They did a bunch of scans, took all samples, stool, urine, blood, but no biopsy however and I really hope that is not needed. Doesn't seem like it will be since I'm looking for a GI doc now in Nor cal if anybody can help.

I have never been an alcoholic so if anything its from some PED's from the past and shitty diet because I have that easy eat whatever you want metabolism. My girl is recovering so its looking like I'll recover too and we'll both slowly get out of this mess.

Not being able to eat any meet or cheese or baked goods and a LOT of other stuff is torture, especially when you smell it being cooked. I've been starving for what feels like almost 3 weeks now.

Thanks again for all the support my friends. Stay healthy!

Hi Mate,

Ask your Doc for a blood test to test for IgG4. Its an autoimmune disorder where your immune system attacks the pancreas. Just a thought.

Hi Mate,

Ask your Doc for a blood test to test for IgG4. Its an autoimmune disorder where your immune system attacks the pancreas. Just a thought.

Thx brother they did take my blood, allot and I even asked one of the doctors about this because my white blood cell count was something outrageously high and it got me thinking, then I did research and specifically asked the Stanford Doctor if it could be the autoimmune disorder.

The doctor said since it actually traveled through my GI trac into the intestines it seems to have been some sort of bad bacteria/virus that went through me causing pancreatitis in the beginning and now other issues. The doctors still don't know what exactly is wrong but things are looking good now since I was discharged and the worst should be over they said.

Still got a new apt this coming Monday for a GI doc since they don't know exactly the issue and I want to get this fixed TODAY PLEASE.

I'm finally after what seems like 3 weeks starting to feel the bad feelings of being stuck inside and not being able to go to the gym, so on and so forth...I know allot of you bros know the special hellish place we go to in our heads sometimes when our heads aren't correct. I usually go to the gym to fix it, but I can't so..... Just gotta stay positive here that's the ticket.

Once again take care everybody please and always make sure to treat the ones around you like your bro or sis because we all are family despite our differences..... we're all in this together and we all need to spread positivity and I don't mean to sound so hippyish its the truth lol

I'm sorry so many people are in pain. Cherish your health and the health of those around you. And a word of advice for some of you....It doesn't take much gear to get big...what it takes is consistent times of feeding, sleeping, lifting and getting stronger for years and years (do this on 250mg test total a week and you'll be pretty damn big even with average genetics). The doses don't have to be big or even medium. Time is your main factor and you need lots of it to build real muscle. So don't hop on a bunch of juice that will negatively impact your health,.PERIOD. If you must choose to do anything stick to low doses and the basics. Anything over a gram a week is asking for trouble. Tren at any dose is asking for problems. And for anyone competing who's taking the heavy stuff I hope you know about all the dozens of support meds you need. And how some support meds can actually worsen your health. This is why being under a docs care is so important when putting anything into your body. Too many people putting too much crap into themselves....and for what? I am guilty of it myself. But I'm done for good.

That fact that your girl has it too makes no sense.....the statistical probability of both of you randomly getting it is so slim. Must be related to something in your lives or a virus.

I have read recent studies about success of using insulin to treat pancreatitis in patients with high blood triglyceride levels.

https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2014/08/140821102427.htm

It's something to consider as an option that perhaps your doctors might not be aware of.

Anyhow, I'm sure it's really tough on you and your girlfriend but just hang in there and don't get too discouraged.

Pancreatitis can be caused by blockage of the bile duct. That can be fatal. They can do an endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) where they stick a camera down your throat to detect any blockage of the ducts.

I've had it several times. Certain medications and AAS trigger it. Any and all AAS (drol, dbol etc), metformin, tamoxifen, even lisinopril.

This is a drug reaction for me. No alcohol. Normal triglycerides.

PM me if you want to discuss further but be VERY cautious about any and all medication you take.
