I was discussing intra workout nutrition with a young man in the gym (he asked what I was drinking) and he asked a question I really never thought about.

He said "well if keeping nutrition rich blood available while you train works , would doing little pump sets through our the day help to keep filling the muscle with that blood"

So I go to thinking about it and have been doing a quick 2 reps on curls and tricep extension with a 20lb band every hour after training arms this morning and I've been able to maintain a pretty good pump the whole time.

I know it's probably splitting hairs but has anyone experimented with this ???
Just keep the muscle you trained full for hrs after??

If you figure out a practical way to do this that doesnt require eating carbs throughout the day and busting out a few sets for the entire body every hour I am all ears.

I just assume the best you are going to look all day is during/immediately after a workout and immediately upon waking but for different reasons ofc. I prefer the dry look upon waking but that's a fleeting look too.

Sounds like a complete waste of time just for the purpose of “keeping a pump”.

on the other hand, if anyone is able to create a supplement or product that enables you to keep your pump from a workout for even 24 hours after a workout - said person will be a millionaire overnight

I don’t know call me crazy but when I take cialis and Citrulline I seem to definitely hold a pump “longer”. But if you really wrecked the muscle I don’t know how beneficial doing pump sets throughout the day would be. I guess it’s definitely possible to be “better” but I don’t know the science behind that.

It's not so much about keeping the pump , but using a light pump workout to keep the muscle full of nutrients rich blood

It's more for keeping the muscle full of blood for nutrients sake than look

I thought were suppose to tear the muscle down and then after that’s it’s all about recovery ?
This has always been my thoughts as well but would doing just enough movement to put more blood in the muscle hinder recovery , not really training it just filling it back with blood.
hell isometric or even posing might work

I was always taught "break it down then leave it alone for a few day to recover"

Get down to contest condition. Slowly increase carbs. HGH and Anadrol, will be full and pumped for 2 weeks straight 😁

Just keep doing it, you will also increase the size faster.

An old go to for keeping a pump and increasing vascularity quickly, eat a box of raisins post workout…. Many Competitors used to do this prior to a competition as well.
Or dates.

Interesting thread.

To some degree it has to. Look at the quads of velodrome bike racers

Using eccentric only movements for this would lessen muscle damage and could actually aid in recovery. Like sled drags

🤔 I wonder if everytime you did it you ingested fast acting carbs like cluster dextrin with a a little slin if it would work because you’re consistently driving nutrients into the muscle.
Don’t crucify me lol I’ve never used slin and know very little about the protocols it’s just a thought

Ive actually done this with Lantus on my first run ever. I just use it low dose (20iu/day) but it keeps me semi pumped all day. I inject AM 2 hours before training and PM around dinner. I train mom/wed/fri A/B alternating days. If it’s a non training day I go through a shoulder/arm workout with 50% weight and like one giant superset 5x20 for each exercise each time I inject (2x/day). I end up doing around 4-5 exercises per session. I’m not near your level but since I started this two weeks ago now when I flex after a pump I have veins pop out all over my shoulders and come onto my chest. It certainly FEELS great and I have added muscle (although it’s still early) and lost body fat. But the increased vascularity right now is the big thing.

AAS I’m on 200mg test/70mg trest/200mg primo.
