fewest times a week insulin is worth it

What is the fewest times per week you think insulin is worth using? Assuming the most popular protocols are pre- and pos (fast acting), id guess that most people do not run it on off days. Most guys id assume also train 4-5 days per week, so that is how many times per week they run slin.

Has anyone ever used it on a carb cycling diet, and only on the high days? Example 2 days of low carbs or PSMF, third day is a high carb day, where you train and use slin pre and post?

Or, has anyone used it 2-3 times per week only on days you train a lagging body part?

The PSMF thread got me wanting to try that diet, but I plan to have a higher carb day every third day, and was thinking about incorporating slin. Also plan to train arms (part I want to bring up) on my higher carb day.
 
I would do it myself and the plan you have looks good.

You shouldn't need much slin as you will be carb depleted.

If you're trying to grow i wouldnt recommend PSMF and then use insulin on other days. Seems like you're chasing two goals and unless you're genetically gifted IMO you're wasting your time. Chase 1 rabbit, catch it and move on.
 
Ive used it every WO day and as little as once a week on a high carb day.
There is no amount that makes it "worth it." If you are thinking like this, you just need to explore a bit and try it out.

Pre WO makes sense all the time. PWO, to me, makes the most sense if you are really trying to fill back up and get full.

Good replies from everyone, I am white and get fat easily if push calories too hard.

I am more trying to maintain, lean out a little possibly, bring arms up a little bit right now. Plan looks like this..(training and calories)

M- Chest/Front Delts
T- Arms
W- Legs .
Th- Back .
Friday- Side/Rear Delts/ Traps
S- OFF
S - OFF

High Carb days will be Tuesday (arms) and Friday (delts) as they are my weakest parts. On Chest, Back, and Delts day I will do a couple sets of arms at the end, high reps, to get the frequency up and some extra volume in. Slin would be on the high days (2x per week) if I ran this plan. Calories will average about 3k per day which pretty much maintains my weight.

This is somewhat essentially how Justin Harris has guys utilize insulin. On high carb days to help shuttle extra carbs. But you would also definitely benefit from using it pre or post workout. 2-3 times a week after weak body parts

I like the approach am excited about trying it.

I prefer to have my high days really high, and low really low. So I can slam carbs for growth pre and post on days I train weak parts, then go almost psmf in low days.

I was thinking 2k low ( no carbs) then 5k on high. Seems like other guys have the high and low days closer in total calories say 4k high, 3k low. I feel like there won't be much difference total weekly calories are what's important it's probably just a matter of preference on how we distribute the calories each day
