What bodybuilder can beat the 2003 Ronnie Coleman at Mr O?

If you could bring back any bodybuilder from any point in time to compete head to head against the 2003 version of Ronnie then who has the best chance of beating him and why?

There is only one answer - nobody lol

Ronnie Coleman king - there has never been and there will be no other like this, this is the kind of man of legend who is born only once in the history of mankind. Sounds funny, but it's true, at its peak it was unbeatable. Legend.

In '99 he was amazing, also in the Arnold 2001, but my favorite was always the one from 2003.

Sergio Oliva in 'real' condition is the only person on earth, living or
dead, who could have possibly beat Ronnie. IMO.

There will be someone someday. Sergio, Arnold, Haney, Yates, Ronnie. Physiques that people thought could never be topped. I agree it will be tough to see a better physique than Ronnie but wouldn't it be horrible to think nobody would ever top that? That's what sports are about, new levels.

on the time time and numbers I get this perspective but peak Sergio to Arnold to Haney to Yates is a lot less years between eclipses. We're pushin 20 years since and no ones come close to Coleman.

Sergio undoubtedly appears as a greater genetic talent where the conditions were much more unfavorable and the gear did not form such an important part in the equation.

I have to disagree.

At some point a limit appears.

If we look at weightlifting, they set a limit when they started seriously testing athletes. They annulled previous records because they were suspicious and because it was already impossible for new athletes to match or exceed them, even taking new drugs.

Many Olympics records set by East Germany remain unattainable. That country ran a state doping program, and well, the results were great.

In bodybuilding we don't have drug tests, but there is "an invisible hand", that is, when athletes start to fall ill and die, you get a kind of regulation.

As if that weren't enough, this is a sport where to some degree, we want to see harmony and flow. When athletes become freaks due to SEO or whatever, the public does not accept that "progress" willingly.

Ramy and Hadi are an example of this, just like Ruhl, something is wrong with them.

Yates, Ronnie, Jay ... they still looked (if possible), like athletes with real muscles that fited their frames.

In bodybuilding we have reached the limits of size and condition that is possible with genetics and all kinds of drugs. Wanting to exceed these limits can only lead to more deaths from diuretics or total distortion of the bodies due to that size that distorts the body lines.

There are some big fellas around. How about this 24 year old. When he starts gh he might explode beyond Ronald.

16 vs 24

But will he have Ronnie's back? Shape? Conditioning? I just don't see ANYONE being able to bring the entire package that Ronnie brought to the stage, sure there will be BIG GUYS like Ramy and others coming, but to have EVERYTHING that Ronnie had would be a massive mountain to climb.

If we´re talking size, Paul Dillet at the Hungarian 2003 GP can compete with 2003 Ronnie from the front and I prefer Dillet´s physique, go to minute 1:27

Markus Ruhl at the 2002 Night Of Champions could also stand with Ronnie size wise (not the prettiest but what a freak)

I´m not the biggest fan of Ronnie´s physique for the same reason I don´t like Big Ramy´s: aesthetics, if we´re talking size then clearly Ronnie is on top, but when aesthetics come into play, I much prefer Phil Heath´s physique at the 2011 Olympia or Flex Wheeler´s at the 1999 British Grand Prix or a 93 Yates despite all of them being smaller.

I will bite: What makes you think that he has not used GH?

That's Vlad, a great bodybuilder but he's not in the same league as Ronnie.

93 Dorian. I’m just not that big of a fan of ronnies shape. Not to mention His gyno. I’m surprised no one ever mentions that about him. He is one of the greatest no doubt. I’m
Not taking thst from him but But Yates grainy condition looked freakier to me back then and it still makes me go wtf when I see the black and whites.

Yeah it all depends on who happens to get involved in bodybuilding. Ronnie didn't have the largest skeleton which helped him look so bulbuous - kinda narrow shoulders which can be a plus in bb. Ronnie did have a few things that could be criticized too, not necessarily perfect.

I was just joking. He's so young, I hope he took things slow. Fat chance lol.

No he's not in Ronnie's league but the mass and gains at 25 is insane. Will probably not last that long though, but if he did he could become something else size-wise. He's with the camel crew apparently so they are pumping major amounts.

Here is the kicker!!!!!! Ronnie spent YEARS getting that physique, he started with powerlifting and then bodybuilding and just grinded for many years before hitting the gas hard and exploding with growth. Guys now a days don't have the patience and willpower to grind that long, they want everything NOW thus why they take off like a rocket then fizzle out quickly.
Ronnie was a special kind. Only way I could see someone surpassing that is if Dante went back to training people and got an exceptional genetic type guy and he grinded under Dantes watch for many years.
