Does your confidence go down a lot when you aren’t on a decent amount of testosterone?

I have been using since anabolics since I was 19 and now at 39 my system does not make test regardless of how much pct I throw at it so I just drop to 200 mgs of test between cycles but I feel that my confidence, energy levels, etc go down drastically during that time. I work in sales and it drastically starts affecting my performance during that time when I’m on only 200 mgs of test a week only. Anyone else goes through this?
 
A year or two into using AAS, yes. Now, no.
I choose to not align my self-worth with my hormone use or muscle size.

One day we all will get older and not be able to look, feel, train, and use the things and way we do.
If you can’t dissociate your self worth and confidence from your bodybuilding habits after 20 years you are in for a rude awakening later down the road when you have to stop.. and we all will.

I’m pretty sure it has nothing to do with the way I look. I stay pretty much the same year round. It’s the psychological affect. I feel like I’m more upbeat, want to talk to people, etc when I’m “On”. When I drop to 200 mgs a week I feel less confident, anxiety seems to go through the roof and I second guess my every action and people notice it way more than the fullness in my muscles.
 
To me this would only make sense when you drop down from a blast to a cruise and should only last a few weeks. 200mgs of Test a week should put you in the high total Test range. So if you walking around with like 1000 as your total and still feeling like doodie then it has to be something else IMO. I would get blood work done. Check E2, thyroid and cholesterol for sure.
 
I keep my test intake year round roughly the same. I very rare do more then 200 mg test. I feel confident on daily basis as I am really working hard on myself. My confidence comes from work i do not from amount anabolics I put in. For me in this order is: diet, workout , gear. Gear only allows me to recover and absorb food.
 
I'm pretty confident naturally. When I'm the leanest in the gym the most confident, when the bf creeps up is the only time I feel gross.
Me too but you feel less confident not directly cause you are gained bodyfat but because you gained bodyfat your estro went up a lot and this is primary reason. It is indirect cause.

There is a physiological interaction with testosterone and our brains and there is no denying that. The studies are lacking but unbound T does cross the blood brain barrier pretty consistently if I remember correctly.

I’m a firm believe that you can consciously overcome the mental changes from gear if you try however. It takes effort but if you spend decades training your body it might be worth a little time training your mindset to do these things… mindfulness, breathing control, therapy ect all good tools

the million dollar question is why you drop down to 200mg. Of what significance is this number? If you feel like shit on 200 then obviously that’s not your number, increase by small increments, see how you feel. If you’re married to 200 try pinning every day and/or a different ester.

also try adding proviron, many here seem to like the effects on mood

Have to stop what, exactly? 🤔
 
Your physique should not dictate your worth. Watching close family die around me opened up my eyes. Think about this. When you're on your deathbed(imagine being at a hospital) is it going to matter how much muscle you have? All those people you thought you were impressing are they there? No, if you're lucky you have family there and maybe a couple friends.. that's it. None of this is going to be worth the damage of high doses.
 
Seeing as 200 mg testosterone enanthate/cypionate weekly is nearly 2.5x the mean endogenous replacement dose for healthy adult men (i.e., supra-physiologic), if you're experiencing this, it's indicative of psychological dependence.
 
Id think there would be an adjustment period but youll get used to the new set point. 200mg is a hearty TRT dose. Either wait and see or blast away again!
