My blood work has typically included a CBC panel and since its usually has other things that require fasting its been done first thing after waking up.
i see some trainers say to always drink 1 liter of water 1 hour before the draw to ensure proper hydration. doing this my hematocrit which is let say 52, now becomes 51.
yet if i further check it way later in day when fully hydrated etc, its almost 50.
some say you shouldn't do this as it skews the results, but if you think about it i would say checking it first thing in morning fasted when you are dehydrated or gone 8 plus hours without water isn't a true representation of your hematocrit ?
we spend 16 hours of the day eating and drinking so it makes sense to check it when ingesting a few liters of water?
