Another death, this time a friend

Katsuya Kitamura had a future as an Olympic Wrestler until he flunked a drug test several years back

He tried pro wrestling and bodybuilding, attempting to find his niche.

Quiet, soft spoken kid (well, kid to me) who I met when he worked as a trainer at my gym.

He was very large framed for a Japanese and had good potential, but I think he lacked the patience required.

Heart attack at 36.

I don't want this to be an anti-drug thread, just a memory of a good guy who tried to find his way.

He is the second Japanese bodybuilder I have known to pass. Both named Kitamura, both quiet, humble guys.

That's a can of worms I won't open here. Suffice to say I don't think that's reason for concern.
I hope you are doing well with your own situation. I still cannot imagine bearing that burden.

The sad thing is the older you get, you will see lots you know die. I lost my two best friends last year. Now when I see someone die around my age I am not surprised, but 36 your life is just beginning. My condolences and may his family find comfort.

It is too often that we really only think about relationships when death occurs. I have talked to some older successful people and had some, not all, but some, regret not spending more time with family and friends and less on career. None said they spent too much time with family and friends and too little on career.

Sorry for your loss hawkmoon, I am sure you were a wonderful friend and great blessing to this young man.

Damn...it's crazy the older you get the younger "30's" seems. 30's seems like 20's to me now...so sad...
