I feel I often times get light headed / tipsy / dizzy for a few days due to an electrolyte imbalance.

For example, I started taking these electrolytes packets that were loaded with sodium and then next thing you know I felt like crap all day my HR was kinda jumpy and I was light headed for sure. Dizzy, but not the spins. More like motion sickness.

My blood work shows normal levels of everything and my EKG is normal, however after stopping the packets I felt great after about 5 days (seems like a long time to me?)

Then over the weekend I ate hot and sour soup (loaded with sodium and MSG) 2 nights in a row.

Immediately after the second night I was dizzy. First night was fine.

This was Saturday night and on Monday I felt like shit! Totally off and light headed and couldn’t work out.

Today still have a headache but feeling a lot better. Just been drinking water.

Can anyone here shed insight into what might be going on?

Again blood levels of everything are normal, kidney function normal, no drugs.

Am I just getting loaded up on sodium and it’s messing with me?

Sunday when I went to the gym my legs were nice and pumped. I was mostly OK Sunday and Monday it hit me like crazy. I did take a 20 minute steam.

Are these just dehydration symptoms? How can I best properly rehydrate?

Sounds like blood pressure? Maybe too much salt with out potassium.

Doesn't salt affect adrenals somehow? Energy also

Yeah BP is like 130/85. Maybe that’s a tad high but not enough to cause symptoms like this.
You checked your blood pressure?

I stopped that a month ago. It’s just the hot and sour soup I guess is loaded with sodium.

I also do one meal a day diet. So only eat dinner.
The omad diet could be a problem. How much sodium intake per day and how much water? Your sodium was in range on bloods I think 134-140? Have you felt tired?

Haven’t felt tired really no and breathing is fine.

I have only drank like 2 L per day of water today I drank 3 already and on my 4th. Maybe that will help. I’m feeling better than yesterday.

I don’t know overall about my sodium intake honestly. I doubt it’s insanely high.

OMAD a problem how so?

BP bro and we r rarely salt deficient as we retain more even though I’d saw most of us ms drink 2 gallons of water daily

Increased sodium intake = increased blood volume pending water intake is also appropriate.

I would hypothesize the need to back off of sodium supplements entirely - the other thing, please post the exact supplement you are using. Sodium alone is not a good fit - you need a robust micronutrient profile as well.

I utilize Dr. Price's Electrolytes and Bare Performance Nutrition's G1M primarily (their electrolyte product as well).

Usually between 4-7 grams of sodium per day depending on output level.

👍

And if your piss (sterile) tastes salty, you are getting enough salt.

Easy test.

It was called LMNT https://drinklmnt.com/pages/ingredients

But to be clear haven’t taken that in a few weeks. I improved then I had hot and sour soup (16 ounces) 2 days in a row and on the second day immediately got dizzy that was Saturday night. Sunday was OK. Monday was horrible. Today was better. Drank 100 oz of water today.

With salt intake high water intake increases?

Maybe at 2 liters a day and drinking 2-3 packs of Element for another 16ounces per packet wasn’t enough?
