i have ibs and am staring to beleive starchy carbs are upsetting me

i am trying to build mass and am worried that my gains will suffer by lowering my carbs

if i was to half my carbs in half and replace those carbs with extra proteins and fats would my gains suffer ?

so in a nut shell do we need huge amounts of carbs to gain lots of muscle?

i also have to watch fat consumption ,ie any more than 20gms per meal

i have the same problem oats and wheat kill me so i stick with rice fruit and potatos feel alot better with those and still have plenty of energy

This is very common. Just try and use he foods that work for you. I would suggest significantly increasing your fruit intake. Give it a few months to fully appreciate the benefits as any change in diet can lead to negatives in the short term.

Try various foods to see what work for you. My bf bloats on wheat and oats, so now he sticks to rice and potatoes for his carbs. Dried fruits are a real good option too.

Sounds like a few of you guys should have yourselves checked for celiac disease.

I have IBS and after a few years of trial and error I have found that a high protein diet works best for me.

Most carbs bloat me real bad but I don't have any problems when I just eat mostly protein. Some will say that you need to have some carbs, but do to my IBS I have decided not to eat many carbs. I get my main source of fuel from the fats in the protein that I eat.
