Anyone from MD have an HRT Dr. in Maryland. Also how do I find out if my insurance covers it?

thank you

I don't know of any insurance that covers HRT. You can't even use a flexible spending account towards Testosterone unless it is for non-rejuvination purposes. You can use your FSA for the bloodwork though. Insurance will only cover it if you have low testosterone. Granted it isn't really all that hard to make yourself have low testosterone if you want too.

Yes, insurance covers it if you have a legitimate health need for it, ie a low blood test level. If you dont have low test then its not HRT you are after.

YOu need to call your insurance company and ask them, simple as that. You dont necessarily have to have an HRT doc. Try endocrinologists. Endos are hard to find too though. My hematologist/oncologist told me that the reason why there are very few endos is because their pay sucks. For some reason endos are not well compensated. He said they get paid similar to a general practitioner/family doc. Maybe thats why my new endo is a jerk!

Its impossible to get an appt with my Endo.

Last time I tried it was almost a 3 month wait.

F that. Ill self prescribe my TRT

Wow, yeah like my other doc said they are in short supply because of their pay. Did you try to find any others? I know some people on here have had luck with their GP(family doc). DId you try that?

I got my first appointment with my endo within 2 or 3 weeks of when I called in the first time.
