A day in my life

I thought I would share what I did today.

This is typical of Monday through Thursdays for me.
Friday is just hike, weights and an hour of mma.
Sat is just hike & 1 hour of mat time

Sunday off...plus that is refeed day *oink* :D


Here's what I did today:

5am-6am......shadow boxing, functional training, stretching

6:30-7:30.....3 mile hike in the woods

7:45............ride my bike 4 mile to the gym

8am-9am.......CrossFit Workout

9am..............4 mile ride home

eat

10am-11am.....leg workout

11am till 5pm...Lay in bed and eat & play on the computer, eat some more, nap, eat some more

5:30-6:30.......Conditioning Calistenic Class

6:30-8pm........Boxing Class

8:30..............Gin & Tonic

9:30...............eat

6-7 hours of training daily. Holy hell. I am in awe that your body can handle that amount of training. Mine wouldn't.

It's taken years to get to this level. I take time off when needed and listen to my body.

AD, are you retired now... or is this an example of a non-work day?

I have a home based business that is doing poorly in the present economy so I have a lot of free time.

I also work as a CNA for a small agency, so work comes when ever they need me to cover a shift. I might get a call at 7am asking if I can be at work at 8am for a 12 hour shift. These become impromtu rest days.

Work days are 12 hour shifts so I go for a hike in the woods before work and after work I take a 3 mile walk with the dog (he likes the woods better)but the streets are lit.

i have just re discovered hiking, i used to have a german shepherd and we would walk in the hills for a couple of hours every day. such a stress reliever not a sole around. sadly when i lost her through illness i gave it up....funny thing is a few months later i started suffering stress.

getting a rescue dog at christmas so hopefully ill be back hiking very soon...its not the same on your own

I work with a guy who was a CNA and not an easy job from the description he gave me , especially 12 hour shifts were I can't imagine any exercise before work as it should leave you more exhausted id think , and I remember in another thread you mentioned being 51 years old , but this is some routine you got going .
 
I don't work as a CNA in a hospital or other facility where they work you like a dog. I take care of elderly rich people in thier homes. I might have 2-3 hours of actual physical work like preparing a meal, bathing them or other personal care. The job is perfect for recovery days!

Yeah, I am 51 and I have more energy & motivation than I ever had. Clean diet, lots of H2O and electrolytes, tons of rest, always being optomistic and having positive thoughts ..............keep me going strong.

The biggest way I judge when to have a recovery day or take it easy is by taking my morning heart rate. it is normally 58 bpm when I am fully recovered, if it is up around 75 when I wake up, I take it kinda easy. If it is over that, I take the day off. No matter how good I feel on the weekend, i train light on Sat morning then do nothing the rest of the day and all day Sunday.
