Depends on what state you live in. Look at the Laws of Texas compared to NY... If they are crazy enough to enter a dwelling that they arent affiliated w/... What else are they capable of...?

Nothing happened. If you are in fear for your life, that is justification for unloading, which is understandable. If I had a person standing in my kitchen who was jacked and aggressive, I would shoot too.

Exaclty, I'm in Florida and we have a law that states if someone is in your home unwelcomed, you have the right to "protect your castle". Now if they are leaving, you can't shoot them in the back tho, because you technically aren't "in danger" anymore. I was actually looking at some serious crap: felony breaking and entering, unlawful entry, trespassing, and was looking at inoluntary manslaughter! The guy who shot had a mini heart attack. exactly , alot of states are differant , some you have to prove you had no choice , no way to escape or were cornered and their is still a chance of criminal charges, other you can shoot just for them being their.

Gotcha, im in Cail, unfort it doesnt work that way here.You have to prove they were trying to attack you, but its pretty easy to lie, you can just say it looked as if they were gonna run towards you. And if you kill em you can just say, he said "im gonna fucking kill you" lol no way you could ever get caught in that lie, dead men dont speak

the trouble with that is you have to prove you had no escape , some states call it the "bedroom clause" i think , basicaly the intruder has to corner you forcing you to attack them to escape. You hear a noise in your house and searching for it with a gun and end up killing sombody the chances are your gonna serve time , the fucked up courts are gonna say that you should have stayed put and called 911 , let the "proper" people take care of it , never mind you get put on hold and somtimes end up talking to the dumbest fucker on the planet while a stranger runs around in your home. Its totaly messed up yes I know but some states laws are not desgined to protect the innocent plan and simple !!

That's one thing I need to train myself to not do...to go and search. I'll bet in CA, that I'd end up in a trial that I should win, but who knows in CA lol.

Guess I should just improve the camera area and mobile viewing once the cash is there...Right now I have four I can can view at once on a mobile device but it just never feels like it's enough.

People always ask about differant security systems and the best ones i've delt with are from the local SPCA , a dog that barks when somthing is not right in his home is an awsome security system and most of the time a criminal will completly pass by a home that has a dog , not so much cause he doesn't want to be bitten but because they draw alot of attention.

second best thing is a 5yr old little boy , my house is like a fucking mine field of shit to step on that will cripple your ass if you can see where your going , I dug a little plastic sword out from between my little pinky toe and the one next to it night before last , I may as well have stepped on a 16 penny nail

It shouldnt matter... But you could be looked unfavorably upon depending on the weapon system used to defend yourself. Grampa's old wooden shot gun or something black... Ballistics aside. I know what I use, but keep in mind it WILL be paraded in front of the jury.

Yeah it suck that you can't protect your home from an intruder in some states. But here's another thing, if someone breaks in your home when you aren't there, and hurts themselves in your house, they CAN sue you and win! How about that fuckin justice!!!

You would basically need to come up with a good lie, really quick and stick by every single word of it. Someone weak couldnt do this but someone with a criminal mind could easily.

Keep in mind guys, that I was drunk when this happened. In Florida, if alcohol has any contributing factor (if you have ANY alcohol in your system) you have no legal right to pursue punitive damages if the other party is sober. This guy could have taken other measures, but given the same situation, I would have shot to protect my family as well. The guy who shot me gave 2 contradicting stories, but the thing is, I was drunk, in hs house illegally, and he had the right to protect his family.

Its crazy because we just had a 12 gauge shotgun accident at work the other day. (firefighter/paramedic)

Guy shot his own leg (calf area) with a 12 guage turkey load. He said that he was putting a sling on it. Why the gun was loaded..i dunno...
