whats up guys I am 22yrs old currently 12 weeks out from the NPC New Englands. I am currently about 265lbs at 6 feet. Not seeing to many changes right now. I just started some fat burners in hope to step it up. I am doing Palumbo's High protein mod. fat low carb diet. currently doing 60mins of cardio (very low intensity) 5 days a week.I cant wait for this show I am dieing to finally do well at this sport. I got my ass kiked the past 2 years in a row. I feel like I have made some improovements and am ready to give it all. Let me know what you think. A little behind? or on schedule? Or any advice is welcome...

Train hard, diet hard, have fun. Have fun at this, dont worry where you place, just do the best you can and let the judges decide.
 
Good advice from Phil.

I would suggest to work on your posing and just come in as hard as you possibly can. Don't worry about size, just condition the hell out of yourself. I think you might be doing a little too much cardio right now. That Palumbo diet doesn't work well for me as I get to flat and lose a lot of weight QUICK. Is he working with you or did you copy his diet?

The more info you let us have, the better we can help.
 
I'm no pro but man for 22 thats amazing. Wish I didn't waste my youth on crap and nonsense!
 
thank you for the posotive feedback. as usual you guys are very supportive. I was thinking people where getting sick of seeing me. I belive I am currently 11 weeks out. If anyone cares to see the pictures let me know. I know its boring looking at someone everyweek but it gives me something to do. I really enjoy the opportunity to speak to pros and great trainers available on this site. I dont post to much but have learned a ton reading. thank you all.

Big Dave- Yes I am working directly with Dave. I would not just try to do his diet on my own. I have done low carb diets in the past and just gotten flat on my own. I hope with his coaching help I can be more successfull. Thank you for the comment...
 
for 22 you got a lot of size bro, and it looks like you are on the right track. I dont know Palumbo's exact layout, but maybe start doubling up on the cardio on some days, and thatll allow you to keep your cals up. Either way man, keep us posted, and keep up the good work!
 
i agree with Dave and Phill of course.

I would have fun, work on your posing, but train your ass off and diet hard.

People remember physiques more than placings. I would come in as hard as possible. Condition the shit out of yourself. You will get respect man! take care and keep us updated

Thanks alot guys. I am 11 weeks out now. I am doing 70min of cardio everyday now. Still about the same weight (262lbs). Feel a little tighter but nothing crazy. Just started all my fat burners. I hope to start really getting lean in the next couple of weeks. Let me know what you think. I also know place is not important although, we are all competitive and like to WIN! thats why we are all here.

Also one question. I have not trained abs in about 2 years ( sense my last show) Now that it is getting close I feel i should be hitting them atleast a few times a week. The problem is when i ty to hit them lately as soon as i start they are cramping up and pulsing. I have never had this happen before. The pain in seveer I feel like my whole stomache curls into a ball and starts twitching. I cant do more then 1 set before this starts happening. Anyone have this problem and know whether you really need to hit them. I have always said as long as your diet is clean they will look ok. For a show it is a little different and should prob. be hitting them. Let me know what ya think...

Yes I can see the changes, good work. About the abs, yes train them once a week from now. Try drinking more water during the day. But stretch them out after each set. Do not do weighted exercises for abs just use BW and that will be fine.
 
Nice! Put seriously, where do you get the energy on Palumbo's diet? My pal does it and uses it doing Max OT. It made no sense to me.

Fat. Healthy fat = good energy.

There's definitely a lack of a good pump IMHO. When I low carbed like that, I felt great mentally and physically other than I couldn't get a pump. NO2 + high reps for arms = NOTHING. LOL. My prep coach and i definitely decided to add SOME carbs rather than none.

But Dave Palumbo knows his shit for sure.
