I have some 90/10 grass fed ground beef; do you guys drain the grease after cooking or just leave it cause it is good fat?
Mainly asking about sweet potatoes but does boiling potatoes make them lose nutrients? Even if it does; would it still be ok to do so? I figure I'm eating potatoes for carbs not for their vitamins.

There shouldnt be too much to drain on 90/10 beef, but if there is i would eat it. I thought the whole point to grass fed was the omega 3 in the fat.

You are really ok either way - it doesn't contain a whopping amount of Omega 3 in terms of grams, BUT it has the proper O-6 to O-3 ratio, which means less inflammation in your body, and the fat isn't going to do anything bad whatsoever (there's actually 40-50% MONOunsaturated fat in beef fat depending on the cut too - think HDL)... Inflammation is a big deal and takes you down the road to many degenerative diseases...hope this healps..i'd be happy to exapnd on anything regarding this...

here is an article i co-wrote on inflammation...Inflammation to me, is what people should be scared of in terms of cardiovascular disease..

Great article John! Never knew that about Brazil nuts and mercury in fish; pretty cool.
Any opinions on the sweet potato preperation?
