My friends I need some advice. I have a friend who has been on steroids non stop for 20 years. His prostrate is enlarged and he just cancel an schedule surgery. They were going to shoot hot stream up his urethra to shrink his prostrate. He didn't cancel because of the surgery but because he didn't want to ware a catheter for 3 days. He is addicted to steroids and does not want to lose all his muscle. Will RAD140 help reserve some of the muscle. He has done about 2 ml a week for the last 20 years. He said he could hardly pee and was trying to shrink it on his own by taking supplementation, Flomax, Cialis and reducing his test to 1 ml a week. I don't think that is possible but he said he is already seeing improvement in his urine flow but still on weak side. If this was you what would you do?

Tell him to take a mental break!
Get his surgery, recover and figure out which direction he wants to go.
I think health should be the primary concern,an enlarged prostate is NO laughing matter.

Assuming he’s at least in his 40s; I’d tell him to man up, take responsibility for his health and stop measuring his self worth with how big his muscles are.

At most TRT under docs guidance, and get that prostrate issue in line.

I’ll take Mick Jaggers physique over anybody’s if it meant I could at least pee properly

He is 57 years old and the strongest and hardest working man in the gym. He has 2 daughters and is about to be single again. His GF wants him to move out but still wants to date. They have been together for 5 years. She is 41 and a super hot cougar. She can't handle living with 4 kids as she has 2 boys of her own. He has sole custody of 2 beautiful little girls whose mother move out of state 5 years ago but just recently move back about 2 months ago. talking about bad luck, she found out she has breast cancer and is doing chemo and radiation but still trying to get back into their lives and he wants her too. I had a talk to him about his daughters today who I know he loves very much and I think I was able to reach him. I told him he was selfish and they would forever hurt if he doesn't do the surgery and dies. They are 8 and 10. I think hose words really had an impact on him. Thanks for everyone input.

Dr. Noe,

Finasteride should help him, matter of fact I'm sure it will help him.

1mg a day to start, try it for 10-14 days.

Check in with him and ask him if his symptoms are the same and if still the same up the dose to 1.5 and so on.

Some time ago, I gave cycling a break for about 2 years or so, and I was prescribed TRT 200mg cypionate a week and my doctor prescribed me finasteride because I had the same symptoms as your buddy. I was back to normal again with just 1mg a day of finasteride but after about 2 weeks I noticed libido issues so I lowered my dose to .5mg and my libido was back to normal in about a week or so and I still had zero prostate inflamation. I stayed at .5mg of finasteride daily, and 200mg cypionate weekly and was comfortable with that.

I hope this helps.

I forgot to mention that my cycles include between 100mg & 125mg test cypionate (or enanthate) a week to keep my body functioning with testosterone. My prostate is sensitive to testosterone and I get all the problems your buddy has. So I cycle with trenbolone enanthate mostly with low dose testosterone and by doing so, I completely avoid the need to use finasteride on cycle.

again, I hope this helps your buddy :-(

57 years old and your doing his homework? WTF....maybe thats the problem as well, have him figure out his own shit/issues or have him learn the hard way. From what you say, sounds like he is going to do what he wants.

anyone who rolled on some mdma knows how bad an enlarged prostate feels, poor dude must be suffering real bad. i suggest he visit urologist and gets his prostate fixed first, then depending on the underlying issue which was causing it, his trt protocol can be tweaked as well. hope he gets better, good luck.

Sucks that he’s going through this. I know I wouldn’t have canceled the surgery. And as stated above enlarged prostate is no joke. Does he do bloodwork to check his PSA? I’m sure if they scheduled surgery the Dr would have already did a full work up.

I’m wondering if he added the cialis years ago if this would have been avoided. Since starting this life style it was recommended to use cialis 10 to 20 mg a day for prostate health. I’ve only been doing it for 5 years but PSA always comes back good and no other noticeable issues.
Here’s a good read I found:

PROSTATE HEALTH: Cialis has been approved to treat enlarged prostates. In studies, they used as little as 5 mg daily to reduce inflammation of the prostate and bringing back to a normal state.

STUDY: PMID: 23782459

Effects of Tadalafil on Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms Secondary to Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia and on Erectile Dysfunction in Sexually Active Men with Both Conditions: Analyses of Pooled Data from Four Randomized, Placebo-Controlled Tadalafil Clinical Studies.

INTRODUCTION:

Erectile dysfunction (ED) and lower urinary tract symptoms suggestive of benign prostatic hyperplasia (LUTS/BPH) are common in aging males and frequently occur together. Tadalafil has demonstrated efficacy in treating both conditions.

AIM:
The study aims to evaluate the efficacy and safety of tadalafil 5 mg once daily vs. placebo over 12 weeks in treating both LUTS/BPH and ED in sexually active men. We also assessed relationships of baseline disease severity and prostate specific antigen (PSA) to outcomes.

METHODS:
Data were pooled from four multinational, randomized studies of men ≥45 years with LUTS/BPH, with analyses restricted to sexually active men with ED. Randomization (baseline) followed a 4-week placebo run-in; changes from baseline were assessed vs. placebo using analysis of covariance.

MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:
International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS), IPSS subscores, Quality-of-Life Index (IPSS-QoL), BPH Impact Index (BII), and International Index of Erectile Function-Erectile Function (IIEF-EF) Domain score were used in this study.

RESULTS:
Tadalafil (N = 505) significantly improved total IPSS vs. placebo (N = 521); mean changes from baseline were -6.0 and -3.6, respectively (P < 0.001). Improvements in IIEF-EF Domain score (tadalafil, 6.4; placebo, 1.4) were also significant vs. placebo, as were the IPSS storage and voiding subscores, IPSS-QoL, and BII (all P < 0.001). No significant impact of baseline ED severity or PSA category on IPSS response was observed (interaction P values, 0.463 and 0.149, respectively). Similarly, improvement in IIEF-EF Domain score was not significantly impacted by baseline LUTS/BPH severity or PSA category (interaction P values, 0.926 and 0.230, respectively). Improvements in IPSS and IIEF-EF Domain score during treatment were weakly correlated (r = -0.229). Treatment-emergent adverse events were consistent with previous reports.

CONCLUSIONS:
Tadalafil was efficacious and well tolerated in treating ED and LUTS/BPH in sexually active men with both conditions. Improvements in both conditions were significant regardless of baseline severity. Improvements in the total IPSS and the IIEF-EF Domain score were weakly correlated.

As mentioned in the study above, Cialis can treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). This FDA approved. Click here to see the release...

Dutasteride is much more effective than finasteride. You can take it for 2 to 3 months and it will shrink your prostate and you can go off of it for 6 months without an increase in your prostate size. That has been my personal experience. Only if you are not on high doses of testosterone. If you are, the prostate will swell up again. (Brand name Avodart)

YOU can’t help, change, persuade etc and addict. Detach with love and let him be. When he wants help he will ask for it. It’s tough to watch people kill them selves but, when it comes to addiction your health is the most important thing.

This post makes me sad. Poor dude can't see that being there for his family is more important than muscle. I wonder what his bloods look like or if he even gets them done. I hope this never happens to me (addicted), but it does definitely screw with your mentality...always trying to get better and bigger.

Ive been cycling, more on than off, for nearly 17 years now. I did run into a short stint with prostate issues and it was awful. That was about 6 years ago, I have not had any issues since. Finasteride was my saving grace. I now rotate 5mg cialis and 1mg finasteride eod and it works like a charm.
