20 Years Old 214lbs 26 Day Out

I agree with both Tenny and Pinkton. Be real but no need to be unnecessarily negative. You only get one chance at life so do what makes you happy. There is too much negativity in this world. Plus so what if he falls flat on his face he is 20 years old. There are many ways this guy could go and I 100% agree with Tenny but at the same time you can only do what you think is best at the time. Personally I will never live a conventional life and I still don't have "my shit together" and I am 33 :D

You'll never be a politician you can't pick sides LOL.;)

why the fk does everyone have to be a pro to be successful in bodybuilding?
I had aspirations to be a pro early on just like a lot of these younger guys, I won some city, local, and State shows but nothing national even though I qualified. You can never take those memories away still got my plastic trophies medals and photos journals diets etc. i never felt like a failure, and still remember being handed those trophies and the euphoria afterward.
There are thousands of people on these forums that don't compete, and many that do. Many will never win a show, but will compete cause they enjoy it.
I think younger guys take too much stuff and put too much stock in GH and peptides peptides, but then again there was a time in which I took more than I needed for longer than I did so who am I to judge. Who's to say I wouldn't have reacted the same way if I was born 20 years earlier.

The things I regret in bodybuilding is the extreme sacrifices I made during these times, and ended up missing out on a lot of things..realizing much later that having an occasional bad meal or staying out late wouldn't have really made a difference. This is a selfish game and I lost someone very special to me early on that was there for me from the start that was very supportive of all my efforts through out college, but at some point she wanted out due to the lifestyle.

Let's these guys do there thing and go after their dreams, we have no idea on the education work and relationship status of the rest of their lives.

Far too much negativity in this world and on this board lately, a couple of guys on here just post for attention, and we should all be on here to help and support each other because you don't get jack shit respect from the real world gen pop.

Eveybody quit crying about negativity...

Theres no crying in bodybuilding.....you
Wanna put your life out there....tell everybody
Everything about yourself....make a "killer workout
Prep video"...be ready to take everything that comes
With it...

What is this.... 3rd grade???

There is absolutely nothing wrong with having dreams and putting your heart into achieving them. I think what Tenny and others are trying to say is that at some point as we mature our dreams and goals change. I am sure many of us have seen guys miss out of things because of the dreams of our youth. That's all that I think guys are saying.
You don't have to go all out with a single minded focus - ONLY thinking of BB - to have "success" and achieve goals in BB. I think some guys feel that they have to be totally different than "normal" people and that if they don't carry Tupperware and a jug of water 24/7 - they aren't hard core enough.
Sadly - the guys that make it don't really have to do all that. Sucks to hear that as a young guy but it's reality.
We all respect guys that bust their ass in any sport - but in almost all cases the bet of the best are just genetically superior for that particular sport / endeavor.

I am all for people doing WHATEVER they want - and honestly if someone is willing to give up some of the things that have proven to be very fulfilling in my life - so be it. BUT - just like there is nothing wrong with guys offering encouragement - there is nothing wrong with guys stating that their experiences have shown a different side to things.

he looks like he should be 10 or 12 weeks there....

and his "girlfriend" wont be around for long ill tell you that...
look at the look on her face......lol she fucking HATES it...

poor kid.....ruining his life and he don't even know it...

already got his "champ" belt and everything...

:(

He'll learn the hard way.

Besides that's what you do when your younger you fuck up and learn from it.

Well.... The smarter ones do learn from it.

Anyway good luck to him on his journey cause it's gonna be a hard one. I think he can do it, his genetic potential is ok. I guess we'll find out

I think this is the crux of the issue..

in a sport where only the top of the top get paid.. being just 'ok' makes the whole pursuit.... seem foolish.

this is of course, unless one is making his money doing other things... but the kid said in the video that he's basically broke as a joke.

I will take that as a massive compliment :D Most people either run left or right but I am usually somewhere in the middle.

Exactly. I get the be real and guys don't want others to make the same mistakes as them. Plus some people are simply deluded in BB thinking they can win the O when they need 5 grams to come 5th in a state show. But sometimes people are just over the top with the bashing. People act like most out there do alsorts with their lives when the fact is most people do next to nothing. So if some young guy has a dream, however deluded it may be at least he has some passion. I come across so many boring people who won't do anything due to a fear of failing. Although some people are happy being boring so great for them too.

People are acting like he is going to fuck his life up because he wants to be a bodybuilder and doesn't have Phil Heath genetics. Maybe he will so be real with him but mentioning areas of his life we know nothing about is unfair. Granted many bodybuilders are boring bastards and all my conversations with my friends that compete usually involve me listening to them list out exactly what they have ate that day :D That brings me onto a important point you highlighted. If guys put everything into bodybuilding at 20 years old but literally everything that is sad but again it's their life. People need to have balance. So I understand the negative posts. If a guy was 20 literally spending all his money on BB, no studies, living meal by meal and allowing bb to consume him that may not be ideal. Chances are when he fails at BB he won't have anything to fall back on and had lost many friends or ruined many relationships along the way and will probably be the negative guy commenting on promuscle in 2037 :D

Regarding the video he is behind but he still has time to sort things out. But sure he should have looked like that 8 weeks out. Good luck for your show. As I mentioned in the last thread about him if he posted on here many guys would be telling him how amazing he looks (many posting crap about him on here too). This is why I go on about negativity. BB are very insecure in general and you can see it in their posts regardless if they are right or wrong. I don't mean to sound hippy with the negativity crap. I just don't get the attack any up and coming bb out there stuff if they don't have Phil Heath genetics.

Very true and I get that 100% But it happens a lot on here especially when it's about guys who don't post on here. But sure I personally don't think this story will end well at all but my posts are more in general terms. He did say he was broke but every single 20 year old where I am from is broke and waiting on their next pay day or uni grant :D I was still doing stupid crap when I was about 24. Things like going over my credit limit (was allowed 10% with 1 transaction) and putting a bet on. I done that at about 24. Meaning if I lost the bet I would have had to declare myself bankrupt and if I won (which I did) I cleared my entire credit card (£12,000) and well partied. So I am not going to judge this 20 year old for being broke

Very true. But let the 20 year olds chase their dreams. Be real with them but going on about how miserable his gf is etc is not constructive imo. Look at it this way if he stopped it all and had a normal life you know in 20 years he would look back with regret. Let him make mistakes. The smart ones learn from their mistakes and if they don't that is their problem. I still agree with Tenny though especially in this case . Maybe I am wrong but he looks like he is taking a lot of different things at 20 years old. He looks great but as you mention abotu genetics and the top of the sport I think he would have to half kill himself to compete at the highest level. Hopefully he proves everyone wrong.

My opinion its about balance. If its gonna cost you a better career and stop you from making more money then its stupid in my opinion. The smart ones continue to make money in the sport thru there lifetime, the smart ones. What percent actually do this? If you can find that balance of bodybuilding and a good career then thats the dream. Am i wrong to say most bodybuilders that have a obsession with it dont make the right decisions, either health, career, relationships. Do what makes you happy like others said but balance is the key

Nothing is worth being broke

There's quite a few guys who are successful in the industry who were never top pros. John Meadows, and Dusty Hanshaw come to mind right away.

The thing that you notice is that these people have drive that they can direct in those endeavors. Bodybuilders are some of the most singularly focused group of individuals on this planet.

It's: Gotta eat, Gotta train, Gotta sleep, Gotta pin...and THAT's it! None of that shit should take up majority of your day. You make your food, you eat your food, you find 60-90 minutes to train, and you go to bed on time. The rest of the time should be spent trying to build a career or passion that will have a financial return which will pay dividends in your future.

Ronnie Coleman worked 8+ hrs a day as a police officer up until 2002, Why? Because he was bored, and didn't get the idea of sitting around all day even though with all his winnings and sponsorships, he was already a millionaire.

Stan Efferding did a really good rant on this topic about how he's hypocritical about the various things he's accomplished in his life. He never did them at the same time, He competed, then stepped away and built multiple 8 figure businesses, then went back to competing and won his pro card. Finally, pursued powerlifting and set a world record. He was able to do all of this, because he had a financial backbone to be able to fund these various endeavors.

Look at it this way if he stopped it all and had a normal life you know in 20 years he would look back with regret.

So either way he's fucked... remorse to have given it all to BB causing him to look back in anger 20 years down the road for he will have failed miserably, or regrets if he gives up on his dream now and hates the world for it in his 40's... crap, kid better kills himself now, problem solved... :D

Who gives a fuck about his girlfriend, or any girl for that matter lmao. Relationships do nothing but hold you back from this shit anyway, unless of course you're dating a competitor as well. If she does get tired of his lifestyle, I really hope she does end up leaving him because it'll just be less sweat off his back.

And lol at some of you talking about "regular life". Yeah, let's slave away at a cubicle for 60 hours a week to provide for a nagging wife and two snot-nosed social media addict kids. As far as I'm concerned, this whole pursuit is worth it even if you never step on stage, let alone try to actually win anything.

That's why most bodybuilders drug deal in one way or another. Most of the guys I know at least sell to their mates to cover their usage. Most sell through personal training, gyms etc. There aren't many options for jobs that can pay great without obviously training for 10 years or going through medical/law school etc. Phidias also highlighted the really dark goings on in the industry too.

This is why so many women go into escorting or maybe not having full sex but you get the idea (stripping, touch and feel, pics/vids etc). If they have great bodies and are pretty (like most bikini etc girls are). Even the fully loaded muscular women have a huge following and that's their way to make money... especially these days with the division nearly gone from major competitors (I think there is 1 major show left).

Even with ordinary people I know quite a few girls who didn't do well in school so they are strip or do cam to cam now. Most never do anything with the men and they can make huge money. The same goes on with men and drug dealing too.

As you state you need balance so that if the bb'ing is not happening you can still live comfortably without having to sell dick pics like Dev or gogo dance like JJ :eek:

Get big or die tryin' baby hell yeah

Actually, most of my strippers female friends could do something else in life in they wanted to... many did well or even very well for some in school, as opposed to what people usually think... it's just that they chose another way of life. Playing the game (nice husband, lovely kids and cute dog) was just boring as hell to them... "easy" (it's debatable) money involves more freedom... they made the choice to not get trapped in what they consider a shitty life.

Problem is indeed when they get older... that's usually when they'll do anything to get out of it... like play the one that's on his heart with the first rich dude dumb enough to fall in love...
