I currently do 30 - 40 min 4 x a week currently on the eliptical cross trainer. Thinking about swapping two sessions on non workout days. Think it will kill possible gains?

Dont think so. It might even improve your training by improving you cardiocascular system.

Not sure what you mean. You mean you circuit train with weights and then do the elliptical 4x and want to go to 2x/wk? Or....?

No 2 days eliptical and 2 days body weight movements.
Oh yeah. Sure. With less cardio on off days, you might actually see increased gains not less.

So you want to replace two 30 min elliptical sesssions for 2 full body circuit training sessions?

I mean, yeah..it can work. But are you just trying to lose fat? What are your goals?

If you were in a hard diet, i would say keep the elliptical cardio. Keep cardio days for fat loss and lifting days to hold onto your muscle mass.
I would not want my circuit sessions to eat into my actual heavy and hard lifting. Completely dependent and what your goals are and what you're doing. For the past 3 months ive been doing Fortitude Training and there are pump sessions in there. But i also dont look at those as replacements for cardio or even in the same context.

We're all thinking he's saying something different. OP will have to clarify, do you mean you're currently doing elliptical (cardio) 4x weekly but want to go to 2x weekly (cardio+calisthenics)? This may sound strange, but it's better to alternate cardio+calisthenics eow with your split (e.g., bis, tris, lats / back, legs) eow (biweekly). Don't believe me, but it's true.
