hello guys new to the forum, im 31 years old started bodybuilding at 28 after always wanting to be a bodybuilder. i started at 305lbs 6'1 a fat out of shape lost individual. i trained slightly in high school but that was really just normal kid stuff not anything structured, i took it semi seriously off the jump as this was when cbum was going for his 5th olympia title and i was a fan lol i thought i could do that naturally for awhile :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: so i dieted down to 190lbs naturally had abs slight quad lines and detailed back but still had soft glutes and lower back, started a "bulk"from there got to 217lbs doing a whole bunch of "hybrid" shit cycling boxing and bodybuilding so in my opinion i had just gotten fat again lol, started working with a coach i told him i wanted to compete see how it felt so he introduced me to structure and how to be a bodybuilder. i dieted 6 months for my first show and i was absolutely peeled at 178lbs striated glutes quads stripped up to the hip absolute wonderful feeling for that fat kid that never thought this was possible, i took 2nd overall at my first show ever which was fucking awesome in my opinon and might. i did a 2nd show about a month later managed to come in more conditioned at 180lbs and took a overall win. At this point i had already acknowledged i wanted to do this more seriously i started gear at this point 260mg test cyp a week later i added in 100 mg masteron 12.5 mg anavar daily 20mcg clen 50mcg t4 25mcg t3. I was still on a prep diet of 1700 calories a day 220 p 60 c 60 f i came in to my next show at 195 eating the same as i was going into my natty show, took 2nd overall at this last show but nonetheless 15 lbs gained on a prep diet to me was wild, since then ive slowly increased my gear with my coaches protocol. im on 400 test e 450 primo e 5iu hgh 8iu fast acting insulin pre and post workout and ive gone from 195 last show to now 245lbs in around 10 months time. i experimented with higher gh as well as retatrutide but thee combination increased my resting heart rate into the low 90's which was concerning to me so i dropped the reta and cut gh in half sitting now in mid 60's range as it typically does. i get 12k steps a day, i do 15 min hiit cardio in the morning and slowly gaining over time to keep leanness and health markers in check. my question is is this a typical response to gear with proper training diet and keeping health markers in check? or is this typical hyper responder genetics? ive attached some photos of my start point as well as my current physique. thank you guys for your time!

I don’t think there’s any hyper responders on forums (unless pro’s) as by the time they’ve come across one they’re already light years ahead of everyone else

Good response? Yeah I’d say so but the variance for response is so massive from Phil Heath to the guy on 3g who doesn’t look like he trains. Most of us fall somewhere in the middle

Good structure your genetics is good

Thank god you dieted to see what is underneath and what you can do

Sensible gear progression and balls of steel to do that diet

Keep going much respect

I read the whole thing and i would say you have good genetics, and also respond good to gear, imagine if you would have started the gear on a above maintenance diet? Also your ability to get in good condition is above normal. I think you have what it takes to become a pro, 3 to 5 years?

Post up your contest pics where you were "peeled".

Definitely the goal man i am competing in open so at this point have to grow alot more bro. Had i started above maintenance? Lol sheeesh id be a bit farther then i am now

Congrats on the progress you have made so far. You have clearly done a great job staying disciplined with your diet and training. Would I call you a hyper responder? No, not at all. That does not take away from what you have accomplished and it does not mean you cannot become an excellent bodybuilder. I think you already recognize that with some of the skin issues, competing for a Mr. Olympia title is not realistic, but that does not define you. Keep grinding every day and year after year when you look back at your photos you will see yourself getting closer and closer to the vision you have in your mind.

1. Good transformation, be proud of yourself.

2. Whether you knowing you're a "hyper-responder" or not is irrelevant. And in fact, you are not a hyper responder. This thread was a good introduction, that's what it should be. "Hey, im new here. Excited to partake in discussions. Here is my transformation over the past couple years." But this feels a lil like youre searching for compliments and to confirm something that isn't quite true. You look good. Be proud. That's it. Move on. Keep plugging away. Knowing or not knowing your response to gear doesnt make 1 lick of a difference.

Your queries can be determined through either— Androgen Receptor Gene Sequencing and CAG Repeat Analysis through PreventionGenetics or Androgen Receptor Sensitivity (AR-CAG) test through Marek Diagnostics. A bit costly, although your answer awaits your curiosities.

There's other analyses you could explore.

You look good, don't hyperfixate on it.

Awesome. Well there it is, if he really wants to know if he's truly a hyper-responder lol.

What does your coach say to this question?

Just remember our first and early cycles are always our best. The more muscle you want to carry, the harder it will get. Great transformation and welcome to PM.

Wait, this is actually a thing?

They can determine responsiveness simply (through a rather unsimple process) of looking at your DNA?

Or in the case of the responsiveness test, they would use X input of androgens to determine Y output, then compare this across other samples to determine a relative responsiveness rate across a population?

I have no intention of doing the test as I can’t change my genetics regardless but the science aspect is kind of neat
