5/3/1 second edition: programming big assistance lifts, 5/3/1 & crossfit and 5/3/1 with rest/pause.

Supposed to be coming out this week. I have always been a fan of Jim Wendlers writings and am looking forward to the book. Really interested in hearing his thoughts on crossfit and how he incorporated it into 5/3/1. Most likely I will pick up a copy.. Anyone else?

Intresting stuff. He applies DC type training to his 531 method as well. I think I might give this a shot.

Has anyone used his 531 system and got good size and strength gains?

Yeah the more overtrained you are the better 531 works. I tried it years ago when it was just out but I didn't stick with it long as I was looking for something more specific. My training partner just tried it [even though I didn't - made training together interesting] he made gains. But then again almost anything new works for awhile, especially when on tren
All jokes aside 531 the original is a fine program; if coming from high volume stuff I think it would benefit most

I've been kinda all over the place with my training. Somedays I'll go heavy, like 2-4 reps and other days I'll do dynamic type speed work and then high reps with little rest between sets after. Or I'll do a standard type bber routine with 6-12 reps.

Some good info. But if you search around online most of it is already posted.

The 2nd one has all the first addition stuff with a few new things like using rest/pause, % for you accessory lifts and a few other things, but nothing too new or ground breaking. Prob could tweak the original system yourself.
