When I was a kid, I designed a test for all other kids to see if they were "worthy" to be my friends (yes, I was hugely egotistical even then). It was basically a rudimentary intelligence test.

All of them failed the first one, so then I made it easier and they failed again.
I changed it for the third time to questions that to me were obvious and almost dumb. When every other kid failed to answer even one question correctly, I gave up.

Would you do it again today? Or as your old days come closer, are you afraid to end up alone?

BTW, I'd love to see what one of those tests looks like... PM IQ challenge, we'd call it!!

I always tell people this: Think with your head and not your emotions. Emotional people are easy to prey upon. Not saying you can't be sensitive to someone's needs, but think it out first. Too much deception in the world not too.

Logic is truth. Your emotions can lie to even you.

this is exactly how I function

Over the years, I've come to learn it's how a LOT of people function. We grow up playing 3D games on a widescreen HDTV with dinosaurs, gems, coins, and explosions with an interactive hand controller and then we are taken out of our homes and placed under dull fluorescent lights to watch a teacher show us how two plus two equals four.

...um yeah. Of course we're not going to be interested.

Its very easy for powerful minds to manipulate great masses of people by appealing to emotion. "Everyone should have ample healthcare - think of the children and elderly" - HOW do you argue against that from a purely emotional standpoint? "F the rich - tax the shit out of them and help out the little guy" ???

The thing is that if you TRULY care about others - you force yourself to suppress emotion and make decisions that MAKE SENSE and will actually help..
