56 y/o man in 2nd contest;need help

Crowler suggested I hop i n here to get some good advice

contest is 2 weeks from yesterday........

56 year old been in gyms for 10 years...competed 1st time last year...did ok. This year I tried to commence my cut at a lower weight and be more disciplined Started out at 94kg (~207) about 16/52 ago

To date now at about 83kg (~187) and just onder 8.5% b/f Contest is 2 weeks from this coming Sat.

My diet/programme atm is
Walk 45-60" in AM - I have a double cup of coffee + some grapefruit juice and glutamine

After this a protien shake.
Mid AM: small m/waved potato and a protien shake + psyllium husks (used in my shakes...)
Lunch:Either a 6 egg white omelet + lettuce or 200g of fish w/lettuce
Mid PM: same as mid AM
Dinner: 300g of fish or chicken with big salad
Late:protien shake + Glutamine

I go to gym and do heavy 4-5 x per week usually at lunch or late PM. Take BCAA after gym and before sleep.

Supps: Over the 16 weeks used ECA for about 1/12.
One week ago started Clen ramping to 180ug/day (divided into 2 doses) stacked w/T3 ramping up and down to a max of 100mcg/day.

Next 2 weeks are critical and would appreciate your thoughts

I'm not vascular atm at all but that may be because of a carb-deficit atm.

ALSO...He told me to mention:

1. Last b/f anaylysis i had done via the Australian Institute of Sport using their methds (about 1 week ago), I had lost only 100g of lean in the past 3 weeks and my weights in the gym are still going up so Im reasonably happy with that.

2. Re the carb up...GULP...last one where I had substantially more than I do now......GULP....maybe a month or 6 weeks ago...maybe more.....

Dont ask me where I get my energy from but I can do all my gym and cardio and work f/t on that carb base.

Any suggestions???

Glad you came over. HA HA I just noticed you are from Australia you are in good company some of the vets here are also from your area of the world.

I tried helping him but knew there are ALOT more learned guys here and he needs some good advice.


May take a day or two but I am SURE the guys who have been there and done that will give you some great info.

Last 2 weeks are tricky and it is didfferent for everyone and no two thinsg work the same for people...watch sodium intake from shakes, egg whites and other loose items..eat bland ...cut cardio out atleast 5 days out to get glycogen levels back up to fill out...stop training the last 3 dasy as well to fill out but keep posing liek hell as that will harden you up a bit more..thats all i dare to say for now

Well, people are reading your post, but what exactly is your question??
I personally don't understand it.

Are you wondering why you have energy when on very low/zero carbs? Well, how about your body is become efficient at burning fat for ebergy, or it's even in ketosis if the carbs are low enough.

Are you wondering whether you are doing things right? Well, are they working? If they are, why change, especially 2 weeks out when there's nothing really that you can do anyway?

So, what are you exactly asking for?

It is if you take the time to read! Go to the Article's section and read the articles that fully detail how to diet, train and gear for a competition. How to use diuretics for a comp, how to tan, how to pose, and everything else you can think of.
Many people have won OVERALL open competitions following the information in those articles to the letter.
 
I guess what I was after was a critique of what i am doing and given there are only 2 weeks (less now), what advice for that period to enhance however possible the fat loss between now and then.

And I will read...have been doing so.
 
Don't psych yourself out! At 2 weeks out you're either ready or not. If not, you probably should pass or get the next contest coming up. Many have posted some pretty amazing pics for being 4 weeks out - check out Gooey's pre-contest pics :eek: :p

Your looking for a quick fix to a last minute situation and we know too little about you, your history and your question to really be a big help..

You will also notice that if you look at EVERY post you will see that less then lots of people look but less then 10% actually get answers...example: 100 looks and 10 responses..i see you got 90 looks and 9 replies..

Don't freak out and stay on your plan... i am sure you will do great and do let us know how you did and maybe after this show you can find a show to do within a month of this one and you will be even more ready to hit the stage and do more damage.. Best of luck and kick ass bro
