I did my first full power meet Saturday Nov 6th and had the funnest time of my life. I'm addicted and can't wait to do my next one in March.
I weighted in at 190# which was weird b/c the week before I was 196..I went home and drunk so much water and ate so much food I got up to 196 before I went to bed, no idea how much I was the day of the meet.
The meet was ran very well and for good reason, this meet use to be the biggest meet in the nation back in the day, and it was the 27th anual South Eastern Cup and I'm glad to have been a part of it.
For the first time in my life I was actually serious about something, which I'm sure blew everyone away. I kinda felt bad for not talking to everyone that came to see me but I had to be in the zone.
My opening squat was easy, 2nd attempt was pretty easy and my 3rd my form was off so I got a no go(540)
On bench I don't really have any excuses other than I didn't get the 2nd and 3rd lifts. I was not use to the bench we used, but bottom line I didn't get them.
Deadlift, man o man my favorite lift now. I opened way to light which is why I took a 4th attempt. The 4th felt like the eaisest lift of the day for me
Overall I had a blast and I got to lift with some great guys..I got to see Joe Norman break the 242 world record squat which was awesome.
After the meet I went home and showered and ate with my mom, brother, Keegan and Shane.
A steak dinner never tasted better.
This meet has really motivated me to start eatting better and get as strong as I can.
During this time I have to prepare for the march meet I will be doing:
1. Fix my squat form
2. Start lifting in gear(squat suit and bench shirt)
