7 Years Missing

So I got this guy and his sister from the shelter 10 years ago as newborns. 3 years later he got out. I did all the usual things to find your missing cat. Never gave up. Every time I saw a cat that looked like him, I checked.

Even had to adopt a stray in my neighborhood that everyone that was mine and kept calling me about.

I got a call from a TNR group last week from 2 hours away. They scanned his microchip.

He’s home now. Doesn’t remember me or his sister, but she knows there’s something different about him. He’s comfortable, sleeps next to me, and when he’s playing…. It’s so nice to see him not worried about anything, I tear up.

Holy crap!!.....thats a long time to go missing....and then to be reunited?.....what are the chances of that?....I'm sure the microchip helped.

Its great ta hear that he home now. How is her health?....how does she look?....hows her demeanor?

He’s doing fine. Normal teeth for a 10 year old. Some nicks in his ears from fighting. A bump on his head that is healing and looks like a bite wound on his butt, also healing. Blood work is good . He had worms from eating lizards.

He’s acting like a normal cat. He does love absolutely screaming from 5-6am

He’s still a goof.

You forgot the part where he sat next to his sister and you realized that he had not aged 7 years, much less a day.

My differential diagnosis is either:

1) time travel

It is. All my cat rescue people (I volunteer) are blown away at the time. They encounter 1 maybe 2 years, but apparently 7 years is a miracle.

Happy for you man. I lost my dog 4 years ago, he was my best friend. and I'm not even living in that city anymore. I'm still looking and your post gave me hope. Praying one day our paths may cross again. hoping for a similar reunion as you've had.
