Any thoughts about this?

I wasn't sure if all types of website links were against the rules here..

I wonder what those patients actually ate (and how much) during those time-restricted windows.

I have a hunch it was a lot of bullshit, which is what we often see among people who follow IF...i.e. "I can eat what I want as long as I don't eat for half the day."

For me % change does not tell me the whole story. If you go from 1 person dying per hundred to 2 people per hundred the increase is 100%. Yet the chance of it happening is only 1% more.
The food consumed, now much consumed are factors and the type of person that chooses IF could have been different then the majorly.

This is an uncontrolled epidemiological study prone to reverse causation, unlike RCTs, and it's not peer-reviewed, so the publication holds no substantial value whatsoever.

This aligns right up there with the recent fear mongering that prolonged use of melatonin will obliterate your heart.

Both publications are just– dumb.

Considering most people lack the self discipline to achieve and sustain weight loss...which is so incredibly simple....that would not shock me.

It's actually a more complex metaphysiological & neurohormonal issue.

Essentially what happens is being on 8-hour restricted window causes an abrupt change in brain chemistry leading to the patient talking incessantly about the benefits of fasting, autophagy and Joe Rogan.

This engages a primitive response in social companions known as "detest" and eventually leads to a violent physical reaction where by the social companions viciously and repeatedly bashes the 8-hour restricted window dieter over the head until their brain turns to mush, in turn causing the heart to fail.

I ended up firing a bunch of my personal training clients who were intermittent fasting fanatics. They would gas out all the time and couldn't finish training sessions. I would say stop wasting my time and come back when you can eat right, lol.

Thank you, for saving me the time to look through this crap.

Rather than post an AI response or a link to outside sites: look up causation vs correlation

You can find a way to say ANYTHING is good (OR bad) if you try to without proper use and knowledge of the above principal

Most uncontrolled epidemiological studies headline their findings with polarization verbiage. Essentially portraying you're going to live forever or die tomorrow.

You're welcome. We're all beacons of light for each other in one way or another.

"Linked... associated..." == correlative study, aka usless click bait bullshit. Restricting eating windows does not cause 91% of people to die sooner. The only thing you have to do to poke a hole right through a bullshit study like this is give one possible explanation on why there might be a correlation. How about this - people that skip breakfast are more likely to not give a shit about their diets, whereas people who take the time in the morning to put some food together are more likely to have an overall good diet?

I always tell people that loosing weight is easy it is just not fun for most.
It requires people to do less then they have been.
Buy less food, cook less food, chew less food, swallow less food. It can be done the same diet that helped them gain the weight.
All diets work for the most part it is just the discipline part that doesn't work for most people.

Spot on. One time on social media i told a dude he doesn't need glp's to lose weight. He then starred talking about "food noise." Told him food only makes noise before you kill it. Then he got unhinged and started rambling about his grandmother's trauma and shit that happened to him in the womb made it impossible to lose weight. We officially live in the twilight zone lol

You diminish concepts you dont understand a lot. Some people think about food more often than others. That is what people are referring to when they say food noise. Not everyone has the same amount discipline that's not something that should be surprising to hear.
