Jethro Tull, in response to one of my earliest posts, made a comment that
said, in effect . . . you look terrific, but what does your lower half look like?
While this post is not an attempt to address his inquiry directly with the
attached images, what I'm really looking for is some sort of a explanation as
to the sudden appearance of the vascularity in my legs. (Please, no jokes
about the lack of development in the wheels department, they have actually
improved more in the last six months than that have in the last six years.
And sure my legs are not huge, shaved, tanned, oiled, and well lit, but I trust
you can see that I'm referring to. Or as my wife had said - you have great legs
- for a girl.)
First the back story . . .
Not too long ago, I had developed this bad habit of quenching my thirst in the
middle of the night by going to the refrigerator and getting a glass of juice.
Any kind of juice actually, orange, grapefruit, apple, as long as it was cold,
fresh squeezed, not from concentrate. This habit has since been broken by
the way and in retrospect, that's the last thing anybody needs is to go back
to sleep with huge spike from fructose running through their veins. I have
since pretty much given up juice altogether, I was up to about a gallon a week,
but not given up eating fresh whole fruit.
So one night I swing open the refer door, and under that soft light that shines
out from within, I look down at my legs, and I can see the veins in my legs
standing out in bold relief. Now I had been doing this pretty much every night
for what seems to be months, and never noticed, and I would like to think I
would have, had they been present. But one night, wham! there they are. And
they were there the next morning, and they have stayed with me to this very day,
throughout the day in fact, and even increased with the shedding of a some
pounds since the initial observation.
So what's up with the sudden change? And I do mean sudden. Like overnight.
Anybody have any thoughts on this subject? Why vascularity in the absence
of any other significant physiological changes?
I have a theory about this that I will explore here in the time to come, having
more to do with incremental, not linier changes, and makes no attempt to
explain the why, it's more about examples of this phenomena in other areas
that I have experienced and observed, but for now I'm really interested in every-
bodies thoughts.
Yes, these are poor quality images. It's much like a plumber who never
finds the time to fix his own leaky faucets; such is the photographer who
never gets around to taking a self portrait. I'll post some better pics, but for
now, these will have to suffice.
