If the virus or trojan has taken over all of his computer. A simple fix. Reformat and reload windows. Caution, you will lose all data reformatting.

reboot in SAFE MODE - DL Malware run program and it should find the virus. he may have to reload his icons and there is another quick fix for that, just have to find it...

Man that sux. This is why you get a virus scan thats worth it not a free one. Unless your me and everything is free lol
