Truly grateful to be in a place with so much knowledge and experience because what I'm proposing is counterintuitive to what many of you may have done during your career. So I need you to really have an open mind going into this. During my competition days I realized that 4 weeks out when I was already lean in a calorie deficit I was putting on muscle to the point where I was always struggling to make my weight class. Off season when I had a calorie surplus it seemed as though it took more of everything to grow and by the tie I dieted down I was only 4 pounds bigger. So I created this diet that had a simple concept give the body only what it needs for that day and not a calorie extra. My macros worked out to 1 gram protein per lean muscle 100 grams carbs and fat only from the protein sources. It came out to roughly 1400 calories a day, the first two weeks I didn't notice anything special except fat loss. After the 2 week point it's like a switch flips and your able to grow muscle while staying extremely lean. So from what i can tell it works because of two major factors that are different from all existing diets. The calories restriction and fasting allows the body to finish digestion early into your sleep cycle, allowing the body to focus on hormone production and tissue repair. The other major difference is the diet mimics the environment of scarcity which activates 6 genes that our modern lifestyle of abundance represses. These genes have an effect on nutrient partioning that's even greater than steroids, the body utilizes every nutrient to make itself stronger and more capable of survival. I think the poor health of our society today is the result of people living their entire life with these genes repressed. I've attach 2 pics that explain everything in further detail and one giving you the actual names of the genes and what their responsible for. So I'm looking for other guys out there who experienced this lean growth during the end of contest prep or anyone looking to try my diet and give their inputs on it
