A question about shoes

I use my Converse All Stars for deadlifts.

I use Nike Romaleos 2 for Squats.

I use Nike Air for running.

I need one more shoe for "everything else".

Is there a comfortable "training" shoe that is solid for doing overhead presses, and driving my heels through the floor during bench presses, etc., while also flexible enough in the toe for calf raises.

if you don't care about spending $100+ buy 1 pair of Otomix and i don't think you will wear anything else to gym

for cheap, $40 Adidas wrestling shoes, I've worn for about 3-4 years and still great ....

I use these. Best training shoe I've used. Very minimal and zero heel to toe drop. They were 150 bucks though...

try these . . .

I use a brand call Altras.

Zero heal to toe drop and a large, comfortable
toe box. Very stable and durable. Get a ‘street’
sole, no need for a trail sole in my opinion if your
just using them in the gym or on the street. And
they come in various sole thicknesses.

I own 3 pair, my wife owns four; she just got a
new pair yesterday. She turned me on to them
as she swears by them (me too), her having walked
2,650 miles (4,265 kilometers) from Mexico to
Canada in numerous pairs.

Innov8 f-lite 230 or new balance mx20

"driving my heals through the floor during bench pressing"....????

dude......S L O W D O W N......waaaaaayy too much emphasis on shoes bro.

do you really think it matters that much....??? something flat for pulling
(if you must, but not needed), and something comfortable....not 3
DESIGNATED day lifting shoes....thats nuts man.

lol

:D

you know the best pair of shoes i ever had...(they don't make them anymore)
i wore them for 10+ years, til the damn soles wore through.....THESE
were the BOMB.......i was LITERALLY physically and mentally
upset when i couldn't wear them anymore.....:(

I'm a Nike guy myself........most of their crosstrainers fit the bill.
I'm with Tenny though..........I don't change shoes depending on what weight exercise I'm doing.

When I competed in powerlifting I did but not for the training I do right now.
I don't think it matters.

I have otomix's for the gym. Love them and won't wear anything else.

Sorry, I forgot to mention, the specific shoes I mentioned are for preparing for powerlifting, but I don't want to wear them around the gym all the time. I was just wondering what a great shoe is for the rest of my workout.

Thanks for all the suggestions so far. I'll look into them

Im simple. I just wear these for everything

Romaleo's for squats, they really are worth the money and changed my life.

For everything else, who gives a shit.

I do see some powerlifter kinda dudes wearing the old wrestling shoes like ASICS Matflex but I think a flat cross trainer is pretty much good for everything minus squats (for me at least, I need help activating hams/glutes in the squat motion and the Nike Romaleo's do it)

Otomix which one's...those purple bruisers look pretty cool... or the red high tops

Inov-8 Men's F-Lite
Totally got rid of knee pain when I do squats. I was wearing stupid running shoes before.
They werent crazy expesinve. Think I paid 80 for them.

So if you were to deadlift then do other exercises but finish your workout with 15 mins cardio does that mean you take 3 pairs of shoes to the gym?

Porsche design...

I don't do Squats and Deads on the same day, and I don't run on leg day, but I do often take 2 pairs of shoes to the gym. It's definitely worth changing into Romaleos for Squats, or Nike Airs for running, at-least for me

give great arch support for squats

i can imagine u wearing these. fluffy slice.

Slice doing ass to grass squats in these like Don Long bahahaha

I have 4 pairs of Otomix and they make an all around good lifting shoe, but my new favorites and the most comfortable shoe Ive ever worn are the Nike Free 5.0. They fit like a glove and are flexible. I like doing legs in them also.

im sorry but those otomix are the UGLIEST fucking shoes
ive ever seen....

i still gotta rock some style here....:)

ive been wearing these ALOT of days in the gym....

they need to be gotten used to though.....at first they seem uncomfortable.

but they grow on you......i love mine......my 3rd pair
