a word about maryland bbers....

when i lived in RI every bber was out for themselves. nobody trained together, nobody helped anyone, they all talked shit about each other. (big anthoney darezzo was on of the only people who would help anyone he could along with steve reeves. both great guys.)
now in maryland its so different. the guys here are great. and there are some top level guys here. everyone knows everyone and we all help each other out. if we need someone to train with, no problem. need diet advice no problem. need anything....no problem. we even call eachother to find out how one another is and if they need anything. and these are guys who are competing against each other! it really is a brotherhood here and im very lucky to be a part of it. last year rich seiglman the maryland mpc chairman helped me w my diet. he would come to the gym to look at me almost every day. no matter how busy he was. and he would call me like 10 times a day to make sure i felt ok on low carbs. doubler1964, i can call him at 3am if i needed to and he would pick up his phone. sessumaru is always around and saved my ass with my music for the mryland when lost my only cd of the song i was using. i leaving out so many people but.....

heres saying great job to everone in our area. the commerade and brotherhood of the arnold days is still alive in maryland. professionalmuscle is one of the only other places were we wathc each others backs.

im proud to be part of both groups!!!

Hey Lucian,

is Ronnie Adams from MD still competing on the national level? about 4 or 5 years ago I read an article that detailed his offseason diet designed by Mike Swinney..it was based on compensatory eating..or something along those lines..it was seriously a TON of FOOD.. if I find it I will post it..
What happened to Steve Reeves? does he still have his company Reeve's nutrition? I used to buy there protien powder..a few years back..

I hear what you are saying bro, it would kill some bodybuilders to say another was looking good. Some are worse than woman and no disrespect to the girls the on here. But some of these guys bitch about everyone as soon as there back is turned. If I even smell it in my gym they are showen the door, the only people that have cause problems in my gym are bodybuilders witch is a shame because it reflects on the rest of us good guys like you and I LATS.

My gym is like a little Maryland and I like to keep it that way.

I go to the gym to escape from all the BS out there and enjoy myself pushing some down and dirty iron. If you can't enjoy being around the brotherhood of iron or keep looking over your back, what's the point? That's why I like it here too.

I spend a good portion of my day around for lack of better phrasing "exclusive country club" types whose idea of a workout is eighteen holes and a hot dog.

While these guys are my friends, the guys I know from weightlifing and gyms over the years just make me feel more "comfortable" and help keep me centered.

Its kind of funny when I have gatherings to see the two "worlds" mix. Always turns out great and hilarious.

I will say that when I was ill , the most heart felt offerings of help came from my weightlifter/body builder friends. Meant a lot and I try to give back when they are in need.

reeves shut down the company last i heard. he had some health issues. something to do with his kidneys. it was a genetic thing for him.
i called and talked to his wife when i heard he was sick but havent talked to him in a long time. him and his wife are good people. his products were great and taste awesome too.

i saw dave at the mrylands and he was looking thick!!!! he trains at golds in rockville where i used to work.
great umble guy and boy does he get shredded!!!!!

different steve reeves. this one is a multi regional and state champion bber. he has 2 brothers and they have won the state bbing championship as well. one is a big time powerlifter now. joe reeves. big dude and straong as hell!!!
