About me 28 Y/O 22%BF 272lb 5'11" and have been lifting for 12-13years. (lol wow just blew my own mind). Anyway lately, like the last 20 shoulders workouts or so I have NOT been able to "feel" like I am isolating my side delts. I go about 2-3 days and don't really feel my side delts are sore. You know when you side delts are sore, it feels like a wet sirloin is flapped over the side of your shoulder. . So last night I said fuck this man. I started my workout with 2 trap movements in a row. I do traps on shoulder day. I did heavy duty shrugs with belt and wrist wraps. Then I did like "power" High, vertical rows. On the rows, on a scale of 1-10 on useing momentum I would say I was at a 3. That momentum helps me pause and squeeze that heavy weight at the top of the movement. So I then move on to my regular shoulder routine, DB seated military press, bent over DB rear delts, sitting side laterals with the last set I grab a 15lb DB and do like the top 2/3rds of the side lateral movement to burn it out. I hit my 30min cardio and I'm out. The weights takes me about 35-40min. Just the way I like it! Anyway today.......HOLY FUCK SON! I got that old feeling back! Felt like my side delts where explodeing right out of my shirt and my traps where sore as shit too. Point is I learned something brand new about my self and my workouts...even after all these years...and its feels awesome. Sorry broskis I had to share that story with you guys...feels great.
As a teenager I was lucky enough to have an uncle that trained me as a true power lifter and also trained me for sports performance (high school football) reason I am saying this is because as I look back my shoulders, traps, lower back, and every part of my legs where over developed 1st ya know. I could always get a sick pump in my shoulders as a younger 20 something doing more of a bbing style workout. Something happened along the way, not sure what is was but you gatta try everything once I feel. After you try it sit back and really asses how it worked for you.
That is all.
