I posted this as a way for people to get to know me. I am from Nashville and absolutely fell in love with bodybuilding when I was 11 and the doctors told me I would never walk again. I was born with the bone disease, Osteogenesis Imperfecta Type IV; basically I have brittle bones, which means I can break them just by walking. Anyhow from the working out which was supposed to be only done for a bit to build my strength up for the crutches and wheelchairs I would be using from age 11 til my death. We this as you can imagine is unacceptable, so I just would go to the gym and do my thing we as the time went on I kept getting bigger etc...no before you ask the doctors sealed my growth plates shut when the IT nailed both femurs twice so I am stuck at 5'2...I grew a bit, but my dreams of being ravishing at 5'9 were gone. It is true because once the iron bug bites you, you are done. Anyway I have used AAS, HGH, and IGF-1 (mostly for cosmetic reasons since I have one calf bigger than the other by about 2 inches) and have to say my quality of life would never be were it is today without them. I know with this only being my second post, but I was too tense to post on this site for a while...I did interact on GK some, but not anymore since it is gone. I have always used this site for information and everything and love honest everyone is here and how it is one big family. I competed last year in Mr. Tennessee and placed 3rd in the Welterweight division. I am competiting again this August in hopes of getting a top two placing. My goal is to compete Nationally so I can become sponsored (yeah I know we all want that, but I want it for a different reason, screw the money) I want to be able to show the mainstream of America how great of a sport bodybuilding really is. It gave me a life that medical doctors and science said would be impossible. I look forward to interacting with you all more from here on out and sharing whatever you all would like to know. I weighed 65lbs my freshman year in h.s...I am 195 (cutting down to 165) I hope. I got a bit too fat this offseason, divorce and custody cases tend to do that. I am not proclaiming to be a expert because hell I know I am not, but I have done a lot different things, training, supps, diets, ancillaries, aas, etc...to help prove that these very important aides can help people with many different diseases. Thanks for taking the time to read this post and I look forward to the future and getting to know you all.

Wow.

Wow bro! That is such an amazing, inspiring post!! Thank you for that.
Good luck with life, this great sport, etc. Good to meet you. I'm Nate by the way, let me know if you ever need anything.

Damn! Your on the winning team

You can acheive anything... threw determination... This is a good crew here... even I feel welcomed:)

Wow!

I am glad you are here and it is certainly good to meet you brother. Its inspiring to hear about someone as yourself. You have not had it easy, and you made it happen through determination and discipline. I certainly look forward to your input and perspective. Its a great group here and sounds like you will definitely add to that. Welcome!

inspiring. out of curiosity do any of your doctors know what you have done as far supplementation and if so how do they feel about in relation to your disease and the obvious positive effects it has had on your life and dealing with this disability.

I really inspired by people who have or had handicaps and do not let that deter them:) Welcome aboard Bro, You will be well recieve here. You are an insipration;)

Thank you all for the nice and encouraging words. As for my doctor, well he knows what I do and he has opened his mind up to it because the results speak for themselves, no fractures in almost 8 years. What he speculates has happened is my muscles are providing a shield for my brittle bones. Both of us have hope that one day the FDA will allow testing of brittle bones patients to be done with HGH. Studies are already proving that HGH therapy helps heal fractures quicker and does offset osteoperosis. He has my last couple of years worth of cycles. You have to understand though ethically it is wrong for him to support this to a certain degree, but he has a son with my disease who I think more or less he wants to help too. I have never believed in a lot as far as doses go. I am trying to prove that AAS and HGH therapy have YET ANOTHER place in today's medical world. My disease is a wasting disease in essence...they give it to AIDS patients, burn victims, etc. I hope the eventually open it up to everyone, but I will say that I hope through educating people I can make a difference for people and this sport. Trust me when I say my whole family supports what I do and so do my friends because most of them remember me walking through a mall once and my tib/fib just breaking in half when I was 10, for no reason other than my disease. In time though we shall see I guess.

Well Hell,

Tremendous post, welcome to the board and please post often. We need more members like you!

hey jablack, did the light heavy win the overall at the mr. tenn. last year. I think i went to that show, my buddy skip wade won the heavyweight class! there are two shows in tennesee that are pretty close together, one in knoxville and one in murphysborough??? I think it was august when i went to the show cause i was a couple weeks out from the northamericans, hell i helped the guys put oil on at the night show so i probably met you???

That is me in the avatar, it was taken one day out of Mr. Tennessee last year. I was still holding some water and my food after I barely made weight caused me to pull more water in. Of course it is a lesson learned, but my back which is probably my 'freak' bodypart was not as dry to show off the detail.

B-boy, I was backstage and do remember meeting you for a split second as I was pacing around back there as I pumped up. I used Dream Tan so I did not use the oil, but did chat with you and the other guy doing the oiling of the competitors. The Knoxville Classic is held one week before the Tennessee Bodybuilding Championships. TBC is held in Murfreesboro TN...it is August 16th this year. I am coming down in weight about 2lbs a week...I don't know what weight class I will be, but I am assuming Welterweight..about 160...I barely made the 165 cutoff, but I am going to go for the razor ripped look. I was the biggest guy in my class and most thought I was a light heavy backstage, lol...how they figure that I dunno..I think it is because I am 5'2. Anyway, I look forward to the show again and hope I can beat my 3rd place finish last year.

Thanks for the kinds words everyone. It is cool to be able to know that my friends in the fellow bodybuilding community share struggles daily. I mean it can be literally anything in which we must overcome to ensure we continue with our goals of becoming the best we can be.

I posted some pics of me from last year's state show in the Member's area.

Wow Jablack! Amazing story and I'm glad you didn't listen to the people said you will be in crutches and wheelchairs the rest of your life. Very inspirational!

AGREED

That is one hell of a post/life story! Was very inspirational to me... I will remember this the next time I say my shoulders hurt... By the way we use the same guru!!
Ryan

Wow thats a good story. Im glad its worked out for you?

Im just curious, what are your strength levels like now?

Yeah the Guru is the man. I am looking good 2 weeks out. Hope I can get the monkey off my back and bring home my class this year.

As for my strength levels. It is fine. I cannot ever prevent nor predict my bones so I just go with the flow, if something happens it happens, but I haven't had a problem since I was 23 when I broke my arm in half benching...but that was due to my spotter just lifting it out to me and letting it go before I was ready for it so in essence I caught it half-way down. Yep humerus snapped in half..though my doctor said it would have happened to anyone.
