AC pain

13 days ago I felt pain in my acromionclavicular joint while doing some explosive overhead movement.

I still feel something when I sleep and ina scale 1-10 1 if I try to use stenght in that given shoulder.

A doctors appointment will take too long, and I am going crazy without being able to do any upper body stuff.

Any suggestion sto help my condition improve?

Go see an ART specialist, he will most likely find problems in your subscap, infraspinatus and supraspinatus+trapz, and often a shortened pec minor to boot.
 
i've got some degeneration of the AC joint. The only thing that helped mine was a cortisone shot and it immediately stopped hurting. You just have to make sure they use a long enough needle because i got one at the doctor and it did absolutely nothing, but the ortho said there was no way he injected deep enough to get in the joint.

Anyways, after the ortho gave me the cortisone injection the pain instantly went away. The pain gradually came back a little but i think getting that initial inflammation out helped wonders. This was about a year ago and it doesn't hurt anywhere close to what it did before the injection.
 
yeah..Cortisone will help. In the long run id definately get it fully checked out and see what needs to be done. Also I dont do shoulder presses anymore which helped out alot with my shoulders.

First priority solution should be to get it checked out, do NOT go the cortisone route unless you absolutely have to.

I had an avulsion in the joint, went to a good chiro/kinesiologist and he recommended strengthening the rotator cuff...I did and it got better, took a few months but better...
 
You should always do rotator cuff exercises a couple of times a week.

i agree, seated dumbell cleans in the 20 rep range or higher with extremely light weight is the one exercise that saved my shoulder. To me they work a lot better than shoulder horns.
