Acarbose /metformin for cheat meals

Hey all,

Anyone ever heard of using acarbose for cheat meals? I am sure most are familiar with glucophage, but after viewing Matt Porter's video on it, I am not sure about it because he mentioned it only prevents glucose storage in muscle cells, not adipose cells!

Now, acarbose, Tim ferriss suggests using 25mg with a cheat meal and it is supposed to do the trick.

Anyone ever used it or had good results?

It blocks the absorption of carbs, isn't the point of a cheat meals to fill out and restore muscle glycogen?

are you sure about this? I watched that video a while back and was pretty sure that he said the opposite of what you posted. I could be wrong though..

I think I remember him saying the same thing as you (opposite of OP) but I haven't seen the video since it came out so I can't remember

I rewatched it, it does have benefits for cheat days. And to the guy saying it's overthinking, clearly you haven't seen me eat doughnuts
