Ace Inhibitors

I've been using lisinopril at 20mg for about a week now and not getting much out of it. BP is still around 150/80. I'd like it to be 120's/70's. Do I need a higher dose of lisinopril? Cialis at 10mg/daily didnt do much for BP either. Im pretty heavy right now at 255lbs but im fairly lean but regardless its hard for me keep BP down when weighing so much. Plus I am prescribed adderall which really raises it. Should I try something else? Does this mean ace inhib's dont work well for me? I'd like to avoid beta blockers or any diuretics b/c I dont want to mess up electrolytes,etc...

Try splitting the dose in half- 10mg AM and 10mg PM.

Are you taking aspirin? If so, is this around the same time you are taking your lisinopril? Aspirin can reduce the effects of different classes of HTN drugs.

Any other Rx you may be taking?

Edit: adderall can decrease the effects of lisinopril through pharmacodynamic antagonism.

I would assume that your prescribing physician or pharmacist is aware of both of these Rx's?

You may have to up the dose of lisinopril, or reduce the dose of adderall. Or separate the dosing schedule of these by 6 hours.

Lisinopril for many years. 20 mg. No side effects. No one else has mentioned this, but if it matters, it is very cheap.

Beta Blockers= Side Effects. Avoid unless necessary in your life.

I am supposed to take Lasix daily, but I modulate it as needed.

I would also suggest if your blood pressure is high to follow the inflamation reducing regimes by Dante and Emeric. Curcumin etc.

Are you are tren by any chance? i see a lot of isolated systolic elevation from people while using tren that goes down a few weeks after but is often resistent to acei.

not a huge fan of acei and if possible go with an arb.

dont be afraid of using a beta blocker such as atenolol which doesnt really cross the bbb and his minimal sides if any in most patients. 50mg of atenolol at night could be on the table but only after we go through everything else first and maybe change some stuff up.

Glad your on top of this. Too many guys dont really care and this is one of the major reasons we have AAS health related issues.

I've been having issues with my BP like crazy lately, and I'm only 25. Been cruising for a year now and its consistently been 135-140/80-90. Whoever said.... diviya mukta vati....been reading about this stuff, and it is apparently the real fuckiing deal. I'm fixing to order some and give it a go. I'm all for anything natural...except AAS of course

Who take an ace inhibitor and if so what brand,dose and how has it helped? Im using 5mg cialis and 12.5mg HCTZ as well as lots of otc supps and it has helped my BP but its still a bit too high. I know its from the stimulants I take which I am slowly weening off but in the mean time I dont like my BP being high. Beta Blockers have too many sides but seems like ace inhibitors have hardly any so seems like the way to go.

I had the hctz 12.5 added to mine. Kept me nice and dry, a week later I was listening to ped radio and they were talking about how I can mess with insulin resistance, did a Google search and seen it did' by the time I got switched over to bp Med without 3 weeks my am glucose had came up 10 points to 95. I was using slin 3-4 x a week for 3 weeks @ 10 iu. In all my years I have never had it jump like that. Taylor said it trashed his to. Keep a eye on it.

I take a baby aspirin every morning and Lisinopril at night. I'll try splitting the dose thanks Stewie and everyone. Currently using 500mg test peptides(hex/cjc/mk677) and 3iu's gh. 4x per week pre workout I use a blend of 25mg TNE 25mg Adrol/25mg dbol and 25mg tren base.

Meds are 20mg lexapro, 40mg adderall, 200mg lamical and 5mg abilify.

If it were me, I would be dropping that pre-workout blend. Adrol, Dbol, and Tren base even in those amounts would elevate my blood pressure.

agreed.

drop it and monitor your BP over the next 2-3 weeks. My guess is it will start trending down.

If not there are other things we can do.

I just would have assumed I could counteract the bp sides from the aas with Lisinopril but maybe you can't. When I finish I will just stay in 300mg test and maybe some primo and see if it improves. I feel the adderall increases my bp more than aas. I'd love to stop but I wouldn't be able to function.

Well your only on 20mg. You can up to to 40 without any issue. Lisinopril and low dose -sartans are good at controling mild to moderate AAS induced hypertension but when you start throwing things like tren into the mix it becomes very challenging to control.

Adderall may certainly be playing a role but you will know for sure once u drop that mix.

Sucks how there are so many meds and you pretty much have to try them all till you find what works. I'll try up'ing my Lisinopril to 10mg morning and 20mg PM to see if I notice a diff. Then 20/20 if needed. Thanks.

My dad was put on numerous drugs for hypertension and couldn't seem to find one that worked like his MD wanted.

They settled on one called Exforge which is an ARB and CCB combo which seems to work rather well for him.

I haven't had time to study it and see what general consensus is about it though.

That's interesting because I absolutely hate beetroot, even though it's maybe the healthiest veggie one can consume. A pill would solve that problem
