Adjusting form - Mark Rippetoe - and size gains

My YouTube feed, besides looking like that of a serial killer, has been putting in a lot of Mark Rippetoe videos. I was just watching the shoulder press video and it got me thinking. Does, what bodybuilders consider cheating buy including bounce, actually hinder mass gains if the weight is increased substantially?

By Mark's method, if done correctly, it makes shoulder impingement impossible increasing safety. The down side is potential power loss through the kenetic chain via the increased number of joints between the floor and weight as compared to a seated shoulder press.

I plan to incorporate these either way as I can't see a downside for a noncompetitor in increasing explosive overall power but I'd like to get everyone's opinion on approaching lifts the way strength athletes do vs. Bodybuilders.

Another great video is the bent over row video. Similar idea in that one about explosiveness and there's a big difference information form.

Are you saying hes incorrect about the anatomy of the shoulder/scapula and how it moves? Also how to apply that to a lift?

Can you tell me how?
 
I think the mechanics of weight lifting and hypertrophy are the same movement wise, but it's vastly different activation wise.

I can tell you, I can recruit way more muscle fibers using the same weight using the same weight as 5 years ago, and I do it subconsciously. That said, the early adaptations that come from strength jumps is important in learning this I think; so people shouldn't neglect that either.

If I wanted to move a weight from point A to B, I'd focus on that solely.

You couldn't pay me to watch a mark ripoff video so I have no idea what you're referring to. To you're original question, bodybuilding is built off wieder principles which are suboptimal for building explosive power. If you're asking if going away from weider principles can be beneficial for hypertrophy the answer is it depends greatly on the individual.
