Adopt shelter pets!

Just wanted to bump this thread to remind everyone how important it is to adopt. I have 2 pits I rescued and I could ask for better dogs. Most people think all you find in shelters are diseased and bad tempered dogs. As someone else was saying, their friend had a pure bred dog that they wanted to give up cause they were moving. People buy expensive dogs "with papers" and expect it to perform miracles or are allergic or some other reason to give them up. Well that dog that cost $4,000 that someone no longer wants will end up at a shelter. Why not save his or her life instead of just assuming it's a bad dog cause it's in a shelter?

I've got my own menagerie, all adopted from shelters or rescued. I want to be a vet tech and work my way up the ranks and maybe become a DVM. Anyhoo, I know a lot about animal health (much the same as ours, at least the mammals) so feel free to ask me questions, and if I don't know the answer I've got numerous DVM friends who can help.

I will probably adopt a pet like this way someday,,but when things slow down. Just not too pressed for time with work and travel. I'd love to have another dog.
