seeing that this is a shoulder injury im sure ill get some good feedback. basically my left shoulder is in a lot of discomfort. it happened about 1.5 weeks ago, i cant pin point any specific movement that did it, but it started hurting after i moved some cardio equipment into a trailer. what hurts is this? if i extend my left arm straight out in front of me like a front raise, there is discomfort like a (5/10) what really hurts is then moving that straight left arm across my chest in front of me that changes the pain to a (9/10) like putting on a seatbelt movement but keeping the arm up and across rather than across and down. im thinking a rotator issue??? suggestions on rehab things i can do to help it heal?

You are obviously in pain during certain movements. Really sorry to hear that.
I think we all, have these sorts of aches and pains at one point or another if you are
seriously in the iron game. Some are explainable some are not. Some we know
what caused it, some occur just appear out of the blue.

I think you have pin pointed what causes you pain and discomfort really well and not
to sound trite or obnoxious . . . but if you don't know what the 'issue' is (you "thinking a
rotator cuff???") how can you do what it takes to heal if you do not have an accurate
diagnosis?

My unsolicited opinion is to find a good doc who will tell you what it is and then
find somebody that will help you heal.

I hope you can resolve this invasively.

does it hurt in the back, or in the joint? if in the joint, probably a labrum issue (maybe slap tear). Posts online probably will do nothing to solve the issue just take your mind in a million different directions and you might end up misdiagnosing yourself by listening to everyone's opinion on what it is. I would get a referral to shoulder specialist (ortho) and only he can tell you what it is. The general doc will call it a sprain and say ice it and take a pain reliever, maybe take an X-ray (and actually charge for this garbage advise) so make sure you see a specialist, a good PT, and push for an MRI if they can't get it corrected.

Definitely sounds like rotator cuff. Go see a doc. No one here can tell you exactly what it is without examining you.
