Air Force Meathead Jobs

I’m training to win this bodybuilding comp in just under 4 weeks. After that I have to enlist in the Air Force, I’m not settling for the mediocre opportunities around me. I’m a dedicated meathead, knowing that and realizing working out/eating healthy is one of my main priorities/joys in life, I’ve done some research on bodybuilding-friendly jobs in the Air Force. So far, Loadmaster & Firefighter seem ideal, will continue to research, and plan on going in mid-April. What are some other ideal jobs in the Air Force for a fitness enthusiast?

Any input/advice is greatly appreciated!

Did 10 years USAF. Fire yes, loadmaster no. If working out is your priority. Load is a great job, wear a flight suit, part of the aircrew. Flight pay, tons of travel. That's why it isn't good, you will be TDY 80% of the time. All the office jobs & medical would be good choices. If you scored high enough, on the ASVAB. If you are serious about AF as career, make sure you have a guaranteed job by your recruiter. I took a open general spot to get a firefighter slot, was security forces for 6 years.

Have you considered going the paramedic-firefighter route outside the USAF?
I have two friends that do this and live the BB lifestyle, they are extremely happy with their careers and lives in general. I have to admit I am a little jealous at times, it seems the ideal career for someone that lives like we do.
Everyone at the station seems to know how to cook, big eating is part of the job according to these guys. When they aren't out on a call, they hang out, cook, eat, and train. Sounds good to me.
Both are in CA and make some really good money too. Benefits are off the hook.

Oh, I was under the influence from another forum's post that Loadmasters work maybe a typical day's worth of work and get a few days off..

I scored 73 on asvab a couple years back, but wanted to try out ROTC, so did that for a year, maybe Ill do a different commissioning program in the future.

How do you insure you get the job you want, before you do your pledge/swearing in, do u demand to see the job on the contract?

Yea, unfortunately Im in CHicago currently living in a really toxic enviornment so the Military seems like the only/best route, to get away, ha-ha. I'm really pushing for the firefighting job though..

Did 23 years in the Air Force. Went in right outta high school. Best decision I ever made. The steadiest hours wd prob be in administration, personnel, that type if thing. Alot of the jobs will be shift work. I rarely missed a workout in the 23 years I spent. Best wishes. And wise decision.

I was never in the military but I'm a carrier civilian firefighter. If you like it in the military you could do it civilian when you get out. Many dept give preference to vets. I work in the south east we make a decent pay but you only work 10 days a month, and my department makes it mandatory to workout an hour a shift. Good luck to you.

Yes.

I am active duty Army brother and your thread contradicts itself.... If your a meathead you would Join the Marines or Army. People who want the easier route join Air Force or Navy

Are there more funner/independent jobs in administration and personnel I should go for or ones that I should I avoid...

Easy is one way of saying it, more intelligence driven then grunt physical is another.
I was a Boom Operator, or In-flight Refueling Specialist as the Air Force calls it as well as the Load Master if we carried cargo. We flew maybe one day a week, the rest of the time we were off work. We did have to pull a week of Alert every month, but still had access to a private gym every day.

Boomers are mostly all now on the KC-10, not the KC-135 A model of my youth, but to me it will always be the best job ever. I traveled, but not too much to be a burden, had private rooms, due to crew rest needs, and ran with 3 Officers that made up my crew, I was Enlisted. Trust me it is a great job, but very few of them open each year. 10 year wait to get into it in the reserve.

He wants a bodybuilder friendly job. Not just a workout junky. You aren't going to grow in the Marines unless you have one of those "easy" jobs. I was a Marine grunt turned scout/sniper. We all loved working out and wanted to be big fucks, but it's not possible in grunt life. If you are not going to be a grunt, it's smart to go Airforce or similar jobs. Stay away from the stupid fucking lifers in the Marines who are miserable and who just live to make your life miserable. Most of those guys have to stay in because they could never make it in the real world, so it comes down on you.

I think Air Force is a smart move if you are looking to stay bodybuilder friendly.

Thats fuckin awesome, thanks.

To each their own brother, I got my eyes set on the Air Force

I'd have to agree with the firefighter route. I have even though about it. I did some EMT ride alongs at a fire station. My buddy I met contracting in Iraq, was a KBR contracted firefighter. They def have a lifestyle perfect for a bodybuilder.

Here is IFBB Pro Steven Kuclo living his life as a firefighter. This is part one, you can find the rest in the links.. Seems like a dream job really..

In all honesty brother I was just giving you shit man. I'm a recruiter so if ya have any question PM me. My father was Air Force. And I'm familiar quite a bit

Thanks guys, I really appreciate all the support and input! :)

It really seems like Firefighting is the way to go for me:
TYPICALLY, a significant amount of free time for eating and training. Also, Im assuming I could bring a laptop to the firestation and make even more money with online personal training or complete online college classes, read,etc.... (would like to get PICP Strength Coach certified among other educational goals).

As of right now, considering Firefighting as my number 1 job,if there aren't any openings in my state Illinois or Indiana, maybe if I could find a cheap enough ticket to fly to another state where there is a firefighter opening and just sign up with that state, I'm thinking this would be somewhat sensible because I would select active duty for a firefighting slot anyways...

Oh yeah, came across this a while ago, when someone first recommended to me that I should look into firefighting..

Dumbest shit ive ever heard. Go figure said by someone in the army. Don't be jealous the chair force and navy get treated better.

In response to the op, stay away from airplanes. Everyday was 12's and weekends were few and far between. I have seen a lot more dudes getting pretty yoked since the new pt standards dropped. Look at what jobs have the highest hire rate as a civilian. Then pick what interests you the most. Even if you do 20.
