I probably mentioned this already, but with all the talk about health supplements n shit, one thing that I see continuously overlooked is a garlic extract called 'Allicin'.

I discovered allicin for myself when I had a wicked bad case of MRSA. I had a dollar coin-sized boil on my ass (the old dollar coins, not the 2000 version)... thing was huge, and my prospects were not looking good (antibiotics did not work).

sure enough, allicin took care of the problem in a number of weeks.. and ive been MRSA free ever since. I take allicin on a daily basis... and I haven't been sick in about 8 years.

so I started researching this compound, and found loads of studies on it and the benefits that it gives to those who use it.

Garlic and onions: Their cancer prevention properties

Garlic: a review of potential therapeutic effects (talks about anti-bacterial, anti-microbial, anti-protozoal, anti-viral and anti-fungal properties...and benefits for cardiac
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4103721/

"Anti-proliferative activity of ajoene was demonstrated against a panel of human tumor cell lines (Li et al., 2002 ▶). Furthermore, allicin inhibits proliferation of human mammary endometrial and colon cancer cells. Growth inhibition is accompanied by an accumulation of the cells in WIG1 and G2lM phase of the cell cycle. Thus allicin is also responsible for the anti-proliferative effect of garlic derivatives. Diallyl sulfide and diallyl disulfide, inhibit arylamine N-acetyltransferase activity and 2-aminofluorene-DNA in human promyelocytic leukemia cells (Lin et al., 2002 ▶). Reduction of the risk of some malignancies by consumption of selenium-enriched plants, such as garlic was suggested (Finley, 2003 ▶). DATS inhibited cell growth of human melanoma A375 cells and basal cell carcinoma cells by enhancement of the levels of intracellular reactive oxygen species and DNA damage and by inducing endoplasmic reticulum stress and mitochondria-mediated apoptosis (Wang et al., 2012 ▶)."

kidneys n cardiac stuff
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5136635/
"In conclusion, allicin showed an antihypertensive, nephroprotective, cardioprotective, and antioxidant effects, likely through downregulation of AT1R and Keap1 expression."

and the list goes on for as long as you are willing to search. everyone knows that garlic is very beneficial for health.. lots of us take aged garlic extract, but it would seem that pure allicin is where garlic gets a good chunk of its health benefits..

really hoping a smart person like gotgame, stewie, and others will weigh in with their thoughts.

was just thinking about all the health issues that steroid users face... the ones that got me most concerned are kidneys and hepatic adenomas.

I think I got kidneys covered..

what do the smart people think about hepatic adenomas?

apparently allicin is good for corelectal ones

what do you guys think? :D

You need garlic to be freshly cut to get benefit of allicin. Id be skeptical of supplements

Hi little slice. Does Allicin make you smell garlic? Or is your sweat during working out smell pungent? Thank you in advance.
Take care.

Correct! It's for this reason I chop my garlic up and down with water like I'm taking pills. I don't smell garlicky even when I'm dripping buckets at the gym...but when I fart:eek:

I remember you telling me about this but you were using a really expensive version, correct? I take the Kyolic brand which I hear is good but can't remember from where. I'm sure it's nowhere near as effective as the kind you were using though.

if you are eating it straight and not taking a stabilized supplement.

yes. the smell and taste is quite strong.. and it lingers (I take it before bed so as to avoid offending my co-workers)

it burns the mouth and throat a little on the way down.

it's pretty expensive, yeah. but I get it for cheap because I effectively served as a 'test subject'. most of the producers' trials were done in vitro on MRSA cells.

I can't really compare it to anything, as it's the only allicin supplement ive taken.

haven't been sick in years while living with some very, very sick people... and haven't gotten MRSA or any type of infection since (ive had a fair amount of surgery over the years).

Do you have a link to buy the stuff you use?

I got a staph infection from a plastic surgeon. Every couple of months it comes back.
However when i used this regularly, they didn't come back.

https://www.optimalhealthusa.com/products/allimed-liquid?variant=14460554886

here's a site for a domestic distributor who ive gotten to know over the years. the family had MRSA around the same time I did.

these people are happy to answer any inquiries. they have thousands of clients across the world, and are more than willing to cut prices for anyone who is going through financial hardships.

it is pricey, yes... but MRSA and Lyme disease are not things you want to mess with.. MRSA especially.

there was a kid in my neighborhood who scratched his knee climbing a fence, got an MRSA infection, and was dead in under 2 weeks.

the site should have some helpful literature on the topic, but nothing that can't be found on pubmed.

feel free to post any cool studies that you come across if you do any research :headbang:

yeah.

a friend of mine who works in the OR at his local hospital says the place is crawling with MRSA..

he said (probably exaggerating a bit) that you have around a 90% chance of going in for a surgery, and coming out with MRSA

he's not a conspiracy theorist or anything, but he thinks that there's a concerted effort to keep the issue hush hush..

Good post little slice. I put together a bit more information to bolster your thread.

I truly believe this is one of the most overlooked and under used natural products out there.

The main garlic bioactives to look for in supplements are S-allyl cysteine and allicin...

This is a great overview of the many heavily researched benefits of garlic consumption and supplementation.

The following are just a fraction of the research done on garlic. I encourage you all to skim through them. It's quite amazing what garlic is capable of doing...

Like little slice said... this could go on forever...

Are you gonna post a topic about garlic/alicin every year?!?! :D

I have always used raw cut garlic with a cold and its the only thing that cuts down sick time. I dont feel kyolic and such have helped me. That extract is stupid pricey but might 5try the smallest size because I do believe in Allicin.

i used it myself for a while too, after reading a thread similar to slices a while back about the benefits.

UNFORTUNATELY - it does have its downside from this garlic smell. after a week my girlfriend swears she could smell it on me at all times, and honestly i could always taste it in the back of my throat several hours after taking it in the morning.

I cut up a clove and let it oxygenate for 15 minutes. It becomes stronger. Eat on an empty stomach. It works. Your stool will also improve.

BRO U WILL DIE

I used to use an Allicin product years ago that was great. I just tried looking for the brand but can't find it. It came in a box with I think just 30 caps and was very expensive. Now I use Kyolic aged garlic extract which is fairly priced. Garlic is a fantastic supplement for overall health.

a friend of a girl I was dating got MRSA pretty bad

she was panicking and came really close to killing herself cause 'the pain was so bad'

granted, she wasn't the most stable chick to begin with..

she was in the ICU, and there was a girl in a bed next to her who also had MRSA. girl gets carted off to OR, and comes back missing a leg.

don't fuck with MRSA bros.. allicin saved my ass (literally).
