Alpha Lipoic Acid...before or after???

I have always taken ALA with food, but I have a few local bb tell me to take it 15-20 minutes prior to a meal....anyone else do this?

Nothing wrong with taking regular ala, you only have to use twice as much to get the same effect as r-ala. Btw, most clinicals studies on glucose disposal on pubmed deal with regular ala.

I would agree with what everyone in this thread has said. It's great postworkout as an insulin mimicker...and take it a few minutes before a big meal, or meal with alot of carbs. Plus you can just take it as a liver aid. It is an awesome liver aid. Oh and one other thing..the dude that said R and the E version both work, you just need more of entiomer E - THANK YOU! I try to tell people that all the dang time. There are hundreds upon hundreds of studies backing the E version..it just so happens that R form is more readily absorbed, so you can use less.

For its insulin mimicking definately before every meal. Also preworkout with some other preworkout foods, shakes and supps. Again obviously post workout before you eat. These are good times.

ive tried it 10 or so minutes before, but then my stomach sometimes burns and if i burp it's like heartburn. ive tried it just breakin the cap and mixin it my post drink, but then that burned me mouth. so now i use it just before i eat

This is a common side effect for some users.

I take it right before so I don't get heart burn but I mostly just use it for its antioxidant use.
