Am I slowling muscle gains my keeping carbs low?

My average calorie intake is 3500-4000 with 350-400g of protein. However my carbs are on averge 200g. WIth 100 right after my workout.

Just wanted to know if my body is in an anabolic mode.

Im not keeping carbs low for any reason other then I just dont like em all that much... I dont go out of my way to eat them. If they are there ill eat them but its not a thing I try to eat...

Just curious... im still growing on my cycle... up 15lbs in 21 days...
 
with me if I don't eat at least 50 grams of carbs with each meal I don't gain aswell. But I also stay lean naturally.
 
I have been training with DC for some time now, and our carbs can be very low, and I have gained 23 lbs in 14 weeks.

So everyone is a little different and will respond to different diets...
 
Derek, The other day was a rare one but I had meat all day and 0 carbs, but like I said it was rare one.

I would say on off workout days its 150-300 but varies, workout days its higher 500 or so but I do not count carbs usually.

I eat average of 650+ grams of protein and 7000 cals per day...
 
I eat about 300 a day and gain...why don't you just try eating more and see if it works? LOL, but I train under DC too, and carbs are an after thought except for after training where you blast the simple sugars to get that insulin spike, the other day I thought my stomach was going to explode...LMAO



I just re-read this...15lbs in 21 days and you're asking this question?!? You're thinking too much...just eat and train.
 
hahah I guess I am...

its cause I rely on lots of shakes to help with the protein... so I take whey and olive oil for the cals... wasnt sure if I should somehow add carbs...

But yes... after workout I take in lots of carbs.. 100+

I guess I think too much.. just eat right?
 
I always wondered about this. I havent been in the game long enough to be able to tell, but i know i DO put on muscle when im cutting.

I also wonder if MORE carbs means MORE insulin spike, or if theres a cutoff limit. Rule of thumb is usuially 100g post workout simple carbs, but i wonder if 150-200g would give u a bigger spike. I mite borrow my buddies glucometer for this sometime, and test out the theory a few times.
 
i still gain on low carbs. 100 grams on training days most of that is post workout and about 50 grams on off days. this is when im cutting also.

|--[\\\]>------- I on the other hand have a dif. opinion...more carbs the marrier! I am a firm believer that you must eat a lot of carbs to grow. Like JBK said, just don't think, just eat.

Figured it may just be water retension...and not true muscle growth,,,'

But all is cool...

making steady progress.
