Amazing story...local girl Nadia Bloom found alive

A little girl with Autism was found alive! Lost for 5 days.

The deep wooded consevation area is close to where I live....Shes dehydrated and covered in mosquito bites... They havent gotten her out of the woods yet, because of the thick brush....

It will be another 30 min before her family can actually see her. because they cannot get vehicles in there and she is now on IV's..great ending.

That is fantastic ,I heard that earlier.Usually after a couple days missing it doesn't end so good

I heard it was actually members of her church out on their own forging their way through woods and swamp that found her.Incredible

That's so great! This is Autism awareness month. I think we all need to get to know someone with Autism and see how special they are. Many of them have amazing talents, especially creative talents. Thank God she's alive and going to be ok! So many tragic endings to children going missing.

11 yrs old with Autism, and no outdoor training/survival training....

they reported she was stuck in mud, hungry...they gave her chocolate milk

She has now spoken to her parents via cell ph.

They have formed a human chain trying to get her out now...


another 15 min. before they will have her out of woods...I would be in the woods!!

Oh we've only just begun to know and understand Autism and how amazing the people afflicted are. I've known some realllllly cool people with Autism.

Thats Great!!! I had expected the worst when I saw the news of her disapearance. Seems like florida has more than their share of "predators" (no offense). Its nice to hear one of these sad stories end happily for a change.

Worst thing about autism is that a lot of reported cases are linked to childhood vacinations. Cerebal paulsey is also another disability that is linked to medical negligance.Its a damn shame.

The news report I heard said that the little girl went out in the woods because she was inspired by a book she read about a littl girl being a naturalist and living in the wild. I can totally see my oldest doing something like this, and it scares the living shit out of me to see these stories.

recently where I live an autistic boy was in school, mainstreamed mostly, but some asshole kids kept tripping the fire alarm. This poor autistic kid who has a functioning of around 6 years old in most areas got really upset and of course, like a lot of autistic kids, was hard to restrain. So they fucking ARRESTED him. Now this poor kid was in fucking JAIL for something that he had no control over. I felt soooo awful for that poor baby. He was in prison overnight. He was utterly terrified and confused. They had footage of when they let him out and he ran to his mother and it just broke my heart he was obviously such a sweet special kid. He was so happy to hug his mom.
Fucking idiots still in the educational systems not knowing how to deal with autism. There's no excuse.

Luckily the school I taught at did a good job with autistic children. The last 7th grade class I taught had an autistic child in it, and he did really well. The staff that you have makes all the difference.

oh, yeah.....I know the area..I drive across Lk Jesup everyday to work.....Hate to see the Alligators......I don't even look anymore,,they really creep me out and I used to have nightmares about Alligators when I first moved here.

oh, they reported she wouldnt have survived another day without water, or food, and she was headed towards Lake Jessup with each step, which is full of gators....in a way it was a good thing she got stuck in the mud at that particular moment for the rescuer to find her...amazing.

I know what you mean about crying. Some days I felt like I could when I saw how some of the students treat kids that are different. the social stigma is great. We did have a lot of great kids at the last school I taught at though. For the most part the kids I had were good to each other, or at least they knew better than to treat someone bad in my class because I did not put up with it. I might add that it helps being a physically big guy in class too. On the first day of school one year I brought a stack of 6 phone books with me. During class I acted like I lost my cool and pulled a phone book off the desk and tore it in half. I was playing a bit of a prank hoping to make them think I was a hothead and then i would come clean and tell them it was a prank. The kids freaked out, but not in the way I thought they would. they go all excited and wanted to see me tear the others,lol! One boy took half of it home to show his mom. teaching was a lot of fun sometimes.

this is terrible!!! I can't imagine how he felt, or his family......I wouldn't have control when it comes to my kids, or someone elses that needs help...that is the thing that causes me to loose it..anything with kids....I didnt want to watch this story at first, because of how it affect me.....if it had been bad ending, it would have affected me for days.
