Thats not all bad. Because of that, the healthcare facilities must treat their customers well or otherwise they wont come back. With government run, you may not have as many choices as to where you can go for treatement. Like in the example above in Canada.

We sure do live in the most fascinating time in human history. Artificial fucking intelligence. The powers at be of the human species have gotten themselves into a predicament where we are all on a race to build an all knowing all learning a quantum fucking computing entity, with one of it's main incentives being power at all costs. And we're off to the races. While we are all forced to just sit back and watch from a distance. That's if we're even trying to pay attention at all. Too many distractions. But some of us try. Constantly looking through smoke and mirrors but if you look hard enough the truth will always remain.

All while Elon Musk is saying "we're too far fucked for much hope or optimism for our survival here on earth and the ability to be able to cohabitate with the future potential of artificial intelligence, so we have 2 options : 1 hopefully create an environment on Mars where atleast we can ensure human existence after Earth is no longer and 2 merge with artificial intelligence, complete symbiosis with technology as one living being, all in an attempt to potentially avoid the highly likely outcome in which this human created artificial intelligence determines that humans are no longer necessary to evolution.

This is some WILD FUCKING SHIT

And I I'm avidly awaiting the show because at this point, all you can do is live your truths and do you, put out the vibes you hope for in return, and live your life. The rest will turn out as it will. Get ready guys cuz this shit is gonna get fucking nuts

I can't disagree with this. The biggest threat today, is overpopulation. Our technology has eliminated darwinism/social darwinism.

Human beings are certainly plagued with that inner turmoil of delusionally thinking they can control things. I'm as blatantly obvious as anyone, my daily routine speaks volumes in that regard.
Mother nature will ultimately have it's way. There's absolutely no way around that. And we get what's coming. I've heard that the next 10 years in regards to how we respond to the current mess we're in and will basically determine the fate of life here on Earth.

I'm inclined to believe the only way out would be the creation of a true superintelligence that could guide humanity.
Elon Musk and I are both fans of the "Culture" series of science fiction books (he names his ships after those in the books), so I know he probably feels the same.

Ultimately, humans will always fail the marshmallow test.

There was a great PSA-type commercial that ran on satellite TV here a couple of years back.
There was an authoritative grandfatherly voice of Earth narrating scenes of climate change disasters: melting glaciers, famine, fires, disease, etc - asking us humans to do a better job taking care of their home.

The final line was something like, "make no mistake, you need me....but I don't need you".
Poignant and powerful.

Speaking of Canada, they always appear to be in top 5 for standard of living, quality of life and world's best country to live in most surveys. I don't know why people from USA think they have a bad life. It appears they do not.

In Romania, corporate tax rate is 16% and income tax and capital gains is flat rate of 10%, income from real estate transactions is 3%, I think health insurance is 5%. They also have a VAT tax on goods, but I don't see anything higher then USA and often cheaper for goods. There is no additional sale tax though. So taxes here are not bad at all. Now here is the kicker, most jobs are not high paying, but cost of living is cheap too. My property tax was I think $80 for the whole year. I have a nice new home too. If you talk to Romanians, most don't like the pay situation, but a guy from the USA that wants to retire here can live very good. At $2000 a month here, you can live good. I do better then that and this is why I like living here. I have a very comfortable life, that I would not so much in California.

100% agree on this. There is always the anecdotal story of a long wait and limited choices in Canada.

In the US we have 10x the stories of people dying because they don't have access to care or going bankrupt trying to pay for it.

Anecdotes resonate more, especially when shared by those we know, but the data usually doesn't support them.
