Anabolic Steroids and high creatinine levels...

Will my creatinine levels be affected very much by the cycle? ... What I understand is that it has to do with muscle waste. If your a heavy lifter and eat lots of protein your going to have a higher then normal level, because your in the gym constantly breaking down your muscles and your kidney's filter that. Am I correct with my line of thinking about this or is there more to this high test results I should be concern about???

Depends if it's because your kidneys are not working correctly OR due to muscle mass.

My levels have always been between 1.3-1.5 and I did even see a specialist at one stage and found that it is normal for my size.

It's funny you posted this because my doctor called today and said my liver creatinine was 104 and it should be around 100. I'm also on tren and test and the tren deff messed with my cholesterol readings. Doctor said she wants me back in Friday to re-do the blood test. Also and ignorant doctor she told me to cut all red meat out of my diet.

Your diet can be a cause of elevated creatinine levels. Serum creatinine can transiently increase after ingestion of a large amount of meat or due to diet with a significant amount of meat; thus, nutrition can sometimes play a role in creatinine measurement. My Doc knows what my diet looks like and said if all of my other vital signs are fine then there is no need for concern over slightly elevated creatinine since it is likely just from dietary factors.

Interesting mate and it makes sense, I take it the meat consumption has to do with the creatine in red meat specifically? Also is it bad to supplement with 5-10 grams of creatine while on cycle for health reasons then ? Perhaps its best just to use creatine while cruising or while not on from a health perspective right?

I don't know specifically how the AAS usage plays a role or if it even does, but anything that is going to stress the kidneys more will increase creatinine. So a high protein diet, which will put more stress on the kidneys, will increase creatinine. I can't see supplemental creatine being enough to cause concern...but that would be for someone in the medical profession to comment on, not me.

Also, as Cornelius noted, the more muscle you carry on your frame, the higher level of creatinine you will generally have. So, again, this doesn't indicate any issues with kidney function. You'd have to look at creatinine levels in combination with a number of other factors to determine whether diet or supplements are truly causing significant stress on the kidneys and have reason for concern.

FWIW, my Doctor uses creatine himself (he is an MMA instructor) and feels the benefits of creatine for athletic performance outweigh the risks.
