Anemia & Steroids

Hey PM members , i would just like to ask a quick question :
Which are the precautions that an anemic person should take while/before using steroids ?

To my understanding , being anemic and using steroids is an advantage , because hematocrit drops low without supplementation , and if i recall correctly steroids increase red blood cells(also hematocrit) and while any normal person that does long cycles(5months+) is advised to donate blood , an anemic person is not allowed to do this due to the above reasons.

So what's the deal ? Any input ?

What type of anemia do you have? Saying you have anemia is a blanket statement. As there as several different types of anemia.

Iron deficiency anaemia, Thalassaemia, Aplastic anaemia, Haemolytic anaemia, Sickle cell anaemia, Pernicious anaemia, Fanconi anaemia (very rare).

I'm suspecting that you are iron deficient with anemia?

I have Thalassanemia.Although i've never had any health issues(im taking multivits+folic acid / cycling iron supplements : 2months on 4months off etc) and even my hematocrit is always within 48-50 range...
