Any fans of nerdy stuff here?

I dont think youve played the new doom from the sound of it. Doom 2016 nailed the atmosphere.

Doom eternal (2020)...what a ride. Its some of the most fun you can have with your clothes on. Total power fantasy. Its go-go-go and absolutely murder demons while platforming. Its perfect to the point they are slowing it down for the next one because they perfected speed and glory kills.

I could not believe how fun Doom Eternal was while I was playing it. I cant recommend it enough while we are waiting for the new one (which no matter how good it is will play completely differently than eternal).

Seriously, check it out.

Bro, I dont know how old you are but if we grew up together it would have been a friendship for life most likely.

If you sat around playing doom on a 486 listening to metal, we were doing the same thing.

I can not express how awesome it is to see someone else say they couldnt get into skyrim...I played that game and all I found I loved about it was the horse that could go anywhere.

I played the hell out of BF2042 and Battlefield 2.

I still have all my comics. Xforce #1, etc.

Did you play guitar, drums, etc? I assume you did. Our arcs are very similiar. Did you have a sick parent and a sibling with 15 years of difference to you too? 😃

I assume most guys would turn the cable onto the playboy channel in an attempt to see some titty so I wont even ask and just assume.
Dude. I was all over Doom 2016 and Doom Eternal and both expansion packs. They are still the only games I really play. Not a heavy gamer anymore.

But, back in the day, I remember playing on my 386 with the resolution turned down and the screen shrunk down so the processor could keep up. When I saved up for my 486 66mhz, it was like a whole new world.

Later on, the Half Life games, the Quake series, etc. And I don't play any instruments, but I hear my 16 year old son playing guitar in his room right now. And he's as big a Doom fan as me. He downloaded the original on his PC recently.

Me and my wife are into nerdy stuff lol. We both game, she on the Nintendo switch and PS5, and me myself on the PC and PS5. We just moved houses though so we’re now planning on how we gonna set up and decorate our gameroom, where my wife also has er drawing section. She draws on paper but also digital.

Besides that we also watch anime and collect figurines plus artbooks from various games, animation films and movies. I have a whole dragon ball tattoo sleeve, a mewtwo tattoo on my quad and currently busy with a chainsawman tattoo on my other leg, from top to bottom. My wife has some nerdy tattoos as well haha.

Only because we moved houses like 1,5 week ago we didn’t spend much time on gaming or anything because of that, but once settled it’ll come back.

I make my own super hero costumes and go out on Halloween every single year. Occasionally I will go to a comic con with my costume on.

Was a huge marvel comics fan as a kid, very glad I got to see the books get translated to the big screen in my lifetime.

Totally agree here. It's getting stretched and long in the tooth now but the last 20 years has been great even on the DC side, albeit to a lesser degree.

I think if end/credit scene in Iron Man 2 where they found Thor's hammer in the desert. Always liked Thor. One of my favorite scenes maybe is in the first Thor when that mjornir/hammer gets released from the rock, climbs into the sky and breaks the sound barrier on its way. That, reboot of Captain America paying homage to his Golden Age/WWII comics and Avengers #4 (comic). Even Superman's reboot or the first half of Wonder Woman up to where she crosses the no man's land between the trenches. Great times and CGI is now good enough to do them justice.

Thor has always been my favorite character.

Yea,DC had some good movies too. Man of Steel, the first Aquaman movie and the first Wonderwoman movie, The Flash. Snydercut Justice League was decent.

You guys excited for Secret Wars? I wonder what that’s going to be like 35+ years after the comics came out- and if I recall correctly, technically published before the Infinity Gauntlet saga? So that’s kinda weird.

Honestly, I am not that excited for it. The Golden age of comic movies has come and gone, Marvel is desperate for a massive hit if they are willing to pay a single actor (RDJ) over 100 million dollars for the next few movies, an actor whos character they already killed off. Marvel has seen its best years come and go and its going to be a long time before they equal the summit of their previous quality.

That being said, Secret wars and Dr Doom will probably be good simply because of the Russo brothers directing it and the stellar cast.

No gaming for me, I don’t have the attention span, but I do read a lot. At least a book a week. I enjoy mostly history and nonfiction but I like fantasy, as long as it’s kind of “gritty” realistic fantasy like Song of Ice and Fire(game of thrones) or the First Law trilogy. No High Fantasy with a bunch of Elves and Wizards and other bullshit

Really enjoying the Saxon Tales/Last Kingdom series right now

I play a dead PC game called Asheron's Call on an emulator server....
That's cool as hell. I love RPGs. That said I'm real careful with them. Grew up with Ultima, Wizardry and Bards Tale. Last one I played hard was Morrowind (so many good memories). Couldn't get into Skyrim but tried Christmas period 2023 - whole thing was same weather as I was inside from cold/winter/windy - screw that.

All that said I had a copy of Everquest in my hand and in line right after launch. I'd just gotten a promotion and big raise. Figured my best career move was to put it back. I do not regret that! Game would have soaked up mega time when I didn't have much to give.

I read warhammer 40k books which is pretty nerdy. I havnt played the board game or video game though

Not sure how “nerdy” this is? But I’m super into theme parks. Researching them, watching videos about them, learning about the rides and their history etc.

Pretty random, but just something I found myself getting really into over the years. I’ve collected a ton of vintage Disney stuff over time.

Have been into comics as a kid. Still collect as an adult, mostly DC. Got into collecting action figures last year realized how expensive they can get.

I’m a total adrenaline junkie for roller coasters etc too!- it might be nerdy, but it’s ballsy alpha nerdy, though!

This is bad ass. When I was a kid I had Greyskull and the Talon Fighter attachment for the tower as well. Nice to see it in full form!

I could spend a day just looking at your collection. I go to comic and vintage toy conventions with the kids a few times a year. Always a blast. I'd be a pack rat and hoarder if I collected everything I had the urge too.

I still play EverQuest on the weekends when the kids are asleep and wife is isn’t in the mood for me. Recently got back into some anime because my oldest found it and loves it. It’s been a blast sharing my old 90s/2000s with him.

I used to build computers and be into MMOs big time.

I really would love to have you in an episode of my Geeked and Jacked podcast. That is an impressive epic collection!!!👍👍👍🔥🔥🔥
