Any fans of nerdy stuff here?

Im a pretty big comic book nerd. I collect them and draw them. Here’s some stuff I did recently

These and the other pieces are fantastic. Super impressive.

I don't actively collect anymore but go to conventions with kids and still follow a bit. I got into it when TMNT just came out a couple months before and started the 80s independent craze. Also Silver Surfer was a long time favorite though the original series' giant morality lessons got old fast.

Thanks man! Im not a huge collector these days. Mostly just a few titles I like to keep up with. I never got into collecting for display or as an investment. I want to read them and draw them. And the silver surfer and xenomorph pencils were done by comic artist David A. Rivera and I did the inks for him. He’s been somewhat of a mentor for me

Guitar / bass guitar / amp nerd. Into all sorts of music, but mostly listen to underground death metal. Horror movie buff, love the 70’s stuff and the newer movies like Terrifier.

bro, your artwork is incredible. I have been an artist my entire life, only ink or pencil, but you are on another level lol. I love your usage of cross hatching, it is probably my favorite style. There is a guy I follow on insta @psdelux he has been my inspiration to get better at the style.

Thanks man!! I grew up in the 90’s comic book era loving artists like David finch, Rob liefeld(even though he gets a lot of hate) Jim Lee, and many others. I’ve always loved the cross hatch heavy styles that were used in the 90’s and it’s always come across in my own work. Here’s a few more pieces I’ve done(some of which are versions that I inked over the pencils of the aforementioned artists) just gave psdelux a follow after seeing his work on ig IMG_7816.jpeg IMG_7811.jpeg IMG_7813.jpeg IMG_7815.jpeg IMG_7810.jpeg

About a year ago I started building WW2 fighter plane models. I get as detailed as my skillset allows, including weathering, etc. I'm no expert but I'm getting pretty good at them.

I’m a huge fucking weeb, name any anime and I’ve probably seen it and have a strong opinion on it.

Huge fan of Fromsoft games, played DS1-3, Elden Ring 3 times, just haven’t gotten around to Bloodborne cause life is very busy. Don’t really like Sekiro lol

I spend about 3hrs on a monthly D&D session with my wife, sister and two other friends running a campaign

But nowadays I just play some modded pokemon games on the Delta emulator app while doing my morning walk and if I have some sit down time I’ll practice guitar

Bro, you are extremely talented, this work is incredibly impressive. Do you post your portfolio anywhere?

It is also crazy how we all come here to talk training, and nutrition stuff, and there are guys like you with these insane other talents that we never really know about each other until a random topic comes up, and then its casually like oh hey by the way @heavyhitter is insane artist

Read the Silmarillion when I was 12. I was in deep ;)
Dude, I love LOTR so much, books and movies. I personally think the depth and breadth of Tolkien's work is the most impressive thing achieved by any single person in all of literature. The only thing that can compare is possibly Star Wars, but since so many other authors also contributed to that universe it is not the same. The one thing I wish the movies showed more of was the brotherhood / friendship that Aragorn and Eomer had, that is maybe my favorite part of the whole story.

Thanks man, that means a lot to me! It is weird how we just find stuff out about guys we’ve talked to for decades lol. And ya I post all my artwork on TikTok https://www.tiktok.com/@rocksteady408?_r=1&_t=ZT-969HSnaE1WP
Here’s some invincible ones I finished last week. IMG_7716.jpeg IMG_7700.jpeg

First; @heavyhitter - your work is insane bro! Crazy talented.

I am in to retro gaming the last few years. TMNT The Arcade Game, The Legend Of Zelda: A Link To The Past, Sim City (SNES version), Final Fantasy IV, Super Mario World. The list goes on.

I still think this era of gaming was the greatest ever. Totally responsible for my horrible grades in middle and high school.

Your page on tiktok is insane, I cannot believe how good you are. The TMNT stuff is badass, not just the detail, but in the cartoons they kind of had a fun / goofy look, but these images you have created have a much more serious and tough looking persona. One of the thing I always loved about comics was how over exaggerated the muscle was. Probably one of the reasons I got into training to begin with. The association with "heroes" and muscularity. Also just randomly noticed that Casey Jones' mask is almost the exact same design as Mick Thompson's from Slipknot

I love mario, and I remember playing OG sim city and OG GTA on PC, that shit was fun, and could just zap hours out of you without noticing

Your work is incredible . I’d even say you’re better than most the professionals that do it for a living.

Fromsoft consumes me haha, amongst thousands of other games. An embarrassing amount of hours into elden ring alone. Agree on Sekiro, maybe Im just not good enough at it lolol. Been really wanting to play bloodborne.. do you plan to emulate it on PC or do you still have ps4?
