Any one live in Albaquerque??? (might be moving)

So my Wife got an offer just yesterday to go to Albaquerque to manage a bracnch of her company that needs help...There is a possibility of it being permanent if we like the place and all that...We would have to be moved there by June 23rd...

I have been to Albaquerque a couple of times but only to go through it and one time for a bodybuilding contest, so i didnt get to see much...Anyone got any info for me???...What to expect???...How is the gyms and bodybuilding out there...

She is finding out some more info today...I am especially curious to see what there housing arangements will be like since they take care of all the relocation fees and all that...

Would suck to see you go. I've been there a few times, but don't know about the BBing scene. I know they have at least one decent gym Get ready for some cold weather in the winter. I was there last march, and still found a snow storm. Who else am i going to be able to watch boxing with, now? Think you are the only one left that appreciates it. Keep us updated

what are you looking for..... It is really a great place... A lot of decent stuff to do. When I'm there I frequent Defined Fitness, several locations, great equipment.

I guess mainly just overall if it is a nice place to live...The gyms of course...

pretty decent place to live. It was cold this year, but it only snows once or twice. fair weather. Defined fitness is great and if you are into MMA the Jackson camp is there.

Albuquerque is a great town. I lived there for about 4 years. Lots of stuff to do. Defined fitness is great and cheap. Stay away from sports and wellness. Choose wisely where you live, though. The crime in abq is really high.

I live there for three years. Real nice place defined fitness is probably you best bet. As far as where to live, look real close to the Sandias up past Tramway or in Rio Rancho (suburb of Albuquerque). Both are good places. ?Rio Rancho has intel right there and they expanded so housing prices over the last three years have been through the roof. (my luck, I bought in 99 when the market was hot and sold in 2002 when the market was soft).

Back in 1998 I did a clinical there for 8 weeks at a hospital off San Antonio Dr. and the highway that goes north/south(think it was the I-25). I worked a schedule of 4 10 hour days where every other weekend I would have friday through monday off and would fly back to AZ for those weekends and had my wife fly out to Albuquerque on the short weekends. Anyways, I have nothing real positive to say about the place. Hard to find good asian restaurants, not much of a party crowd, most girls fat and ugly, and not much of a fitness crowd either. Sorry, just stating my experience, and obviously my taste may be different than others. If you like a small town atmosphere with 4 seasons than it can be a nice peaceful place. But if you like the AZ scottsdale type scene then you are going to go crazy and hate it.
