was just wondering what kind of workouts do the pros follow

I don't think they do it, think about it. They look gased out and out of breath after only doing 2 exercises and they rest a lot. But i might be wrong

Of course not. Full body workouts in my opinion are used to achieve a beginner/intermediate level physique at best.

You can't demolish legs then have energy to have an amazing back workout.

Probably not since Mentzer won the 76 Mr. America and Casey Viator won the 71 Mr. America.

Excuse my ignorance, but what exactly a full body workout?
Is it when you train all body parts on the same day?
When do you train next if you have already done your whole body? is this 1-2x per week training?
Someone posted a video of a girl doing bench x20, squat x20, and another olympic lift x20.
I don't think I could do that more than once a week.

You need to take a good look at your training, aas, and diet then man! Thats not too hard to recover from at all! Personally if I am not hitting everything 2x a week I go flat/soft nearly immediately.

why only beginners whats the main difference betwwen full body and split routines it seems like full body 3 times week would be more taxing can someone please explain

also take a look articles forum ,tried true workouts by razorcuts, that first workout 3 days a week ,what would happen if the pros would follow that, you mean they wouldnt be huge

I don't think there are any Heavy Duty proponents among the pro ranks these days...

I am pretty sure Kai Greene does fullbody workouts sometimes.

They would loose a TON of weight.

Its a beginners routine for the most part, in my opinion it does not allow for any sort of intense training... Not even intense, say just focusing on the movement as supporting muscles will quickly tire.

i was thinking for myself to do 6 day split on cycle then 3 day full body off cycle would that work

i train my entire body over 3 non consecutive days and do very well with this. of course i'm mid 50's and haven't used any aas for quite some time.

My guess - most pros would get too winded doing full body workouts. Can you imagine squats, deadlifts, bench presses, dips, overhead presses, chin-ups, and bent-over rows all in one day? Especially when you're 250lbs of muscle??

ya that def makes sense, i was just wondering what would be better for muscle gains full body or split routines more days per week

those saying they would lose weight doing full body workouts are just wrong

dc is essentially half a full body workout i dont see too many of those guys losing weight

Though not a “pro” at the time . . . Casey never looked better in my
opinion then when he was training like this. Was it Jones or the routine?
Will leave that for others to debate, but he looked remarkable at 19 and
when he trained this way, full body, 3X per week, way better then when
he trained more.

The best training article that appeared on Casey during that period was
published in the Oct. 1971 edition of Iron Man and was written by
Achilles Kallos. The article listed Casey's measurements as Height 5'8",
Weight 217 pounds, Arms 19 3/8" (cold) Chest 50", Waist 31 1/2",
Thighs 28", and Calf 18"! The article also mentioned the fact that
Casey trained the whole body in one workout, three times per week,
and that each workout lasted between two and two-and-a- half hours.

The writer then listed the amazing workout as followed by Casey during
that period.

Exercise Sets Reps Pounds
LEGS
Leg Press 1x 20 750
Leg Extension 1x 14-20 250
Squats 1x 14-20 505
Leg Curls 1x 14-20 150
LATS
Nautilus Pullover Machine 3x 20
Special Circular Pulldown 3x 20
Chinning 3x 20
DELTOIDS
Standing Lateral Raise 3x 20 60
Press Behind Neck 3x 20 215
Nautilus Special Side-Raise 3x 20
TRAPS
Shoulder Shrugs 3x 20 280
CHEST
Bench Press 2x 20 350
Incline Barbell Press 3x 20 225
Parallel Bar Dips 3x 20 100
Cable Crossovers 3x 20 40
ARMS
Barbell Curl 1x 20 200
Nautilus Bicep and Tricep 1x 20 120
Nautilus Pushdown 1x 20 110
Compound Tricep Movement 1x 20
FOREARMS
Seated Barbell Wrist Curl 2x 20
CALFS
One Legged Calf Raise 85 dumbell 4x 50.
LOWER BACK
Dead Lifts 1x 30 400

The most amazing thing about his leg routine was the fact that Casey did
each exercise nonstop, going from one exercise to another without rest.
