A buddy of mine was telling me about these at the gym today and he really likes them as a variation. The bands he uses add about 100# of additional resistance each side of the bar and as you come up, the pull gets more intense as the bands exert more and more resistance. Anyway, he is going to show me these on Monday and I am willing to give it a try. I was curious if anyone here does these?

Yes. Prepare for your hands to take a beating. File your calluses if you haven't recently.

I'm a huge fan of band training especially on deads and bench. In addition to progressively increasing the resistance toward the top of the lift the bands help stimulate the CNS also. IMO this is the best training method for increasing a one rep max. Have fun...I'm jealous.

I like it personally, but what I do not like is the slamming down each rep you here when someone is doing them and letting the bands win the battle as they come back down. I tend to lower the weight a little bit b/c the dynamics of the movement get thrown off on the way down. I guess you could slam up and down, but my back cannot handle that.
Cool to throw in, esp. if you are trying to beat your logbook, or training in that style.
